Brand new to Sims 4 and having trouble
« on: July 15, 2017, 10:35:16 AM »
 Hi,
I purchased the Sims 4 a couple of weeks ago and haven't been able to find a good detailed guide on how  to rotate new furniture, sell existing furniture and I'd like to build a single story home for my Sim family of 4. I am so lost and confused that I'm about to give up even altho I've spent a small fortune on the game and game add-ons like Get to Work, Parenting and I'd like to buy the Kitchen, and Children's packs but until I'm able to figure out or get help with the above I'm not going to spend any more money. Can anyone please help me with this or suggest where I can get a guide to all of the above? I've read Carl's article on building but for me there's not enough detail and I've searched this forum for all of the other problems I'm having with no luck. I really would love to figure out how to do these things and to really get into playing Sims 4... it seems it would be so much fun!

Sorry for complaining and asking so many questions but I truly need some help.

Thanks and hope to make lots of great friends and find some great info! Oh I've looked for a hard copy guide for playing Sims 4 in hopes that it would answer the questions and problems I'm having but it doesn't seem to exist.

Maria
Wishing all a great day!

Hi @MariaC06, welcome to the forum.

To answer your initial questions, rotating furniture in build mode can be done in 2 ways:
1) Left click the item so the mouse pointer becomes a fist, right click as many times as you need to get it facing the way you want, left click again to set it down.
2)Left click, use , or . to rotate in either direction then left click again.

For items you can move in Live mode (yoga mats, paintings etc), while in Live mode left click and hold to get the fist and use , or . to rotate. You can also move any of these items while in build mode.

To sell an item or place it in Inventory in build mode you need to left click and drag it to the bottom of the screen, where the inventory and sell areas are on the left side.

We also have an active builders thread here which is the best place for asking any questions you may have about building.  We are a really friendly bunch so ask away, there's no such thing as a stupid question.

Have fun, Helen

Hi @MariaC06  welcome to the forum  :) You might find this page of the Guide helpful. It is all the hotkey uses etc. Hotkeys List. It's probably what you were looking for.
