No Celebrities?

So I started a legacy family in Sunset Valley and there are NO celebrities anywhere! I used up some points (on a nonessential sim) to buy a road map to the stars and none show up. I'm not sure if they just "eventually" show up or not. I finally got ONE vampire, so I am thinking the celebrities would be showing up any day now. I have a plumbob picture lot (I think that's what it's called) in the town just to see if maybe they would show up there, but no such luck.
Does anyone know if this is a bug or if they will come eventually? I am starting my 3rd generation and I want some cool celeb stuff to decorate my house!

It is not a bug or anything.  In some towns I start, for example, Riverview, every single sim is a celebrity.  I can start another town and not have a vampire or celebrity show up for many sim days.  I guess it will just vary from town to town.  That is what it looks like to me anyway.  I am sure you will have more than your share, just give it some time, because, believe me, they will show up.

I personally suspect a bug in your game kattiq since you are on your 3rd generation and that is several sim weeks into a game.  Did you start this particular game after the latest patch/EP?

Yes I did. I started it about a week before the new patch came out.

It's a bug. It got fixed in the new patch. to bad I can't get it because the EA download manager. But yeah, you could cheat to add celebs.

If you're patched up current, you should get celebrities even in an existing game.  My Immortal Dynasty family was started long before Late Night was released and I have several celebrities in town now.  They started showing up one at a time shortly after the Late Night installation.  They spread through the town and now my family is all 4 and 5 star celebrities.  Make sure you have the most recent patch.

Shoot..Well I was kind of planning on restarting anyways cause I hated the genetics the first spouse gave all her children and her grandchildren. (Big noses and massive lips!)
I might even start a Sim Story on the new legacy, Although I've never done one before...

I started a new game a couple days ago in SV and I have a specific plan for them, so I have aging and story progression off. I found that I now have no celebrities or vampires! But I went into Edit Town and added my vampire couple who are also 5 star celebrities thinking that would kick it off, and my guy got to 3 stars from talking to them, but other than them there are still no vampires or celebrities!

I've noticed a few skill opportunities that give celebrity points as well as simoleons - but I don't know how many of those you'd have to do to get to the first celebrity level.

I have never received any opportunities with celebrity points until after reaching at least level 1 celebrity.  Do you know which ones give celebrity points prior to having celebrity 1?  Maybe I have just declined those not knowing.

I'm pretty sure they were cooking ones.  The ones where you have to bring a meal to someone.

Ahh, thanks, I don't think Athena did any of those, I hate trying to get the timing right so it gets delivered before spoiling.  The only opportunity I saw with celebrity points was one for the bass.  And Atlanta had already made celebrity 1.

One thing I can say for sure, everyone in the family got celebrity 1 from socializing, none were from an opportunity.

Okay so I'm in my second family (I started a new one so I could get the effects of the new patch) and I STILL haven't seen any celebrities. I made sure to add a the movie lot again. Do I need to add a lounge or something? I'm onto my second generation.

Kattiq, is story progression on? I noticed if I had it turned off, neither celebrities nor vampires showed up! If it's on, I have no idea what to tell you!
