Wow.

I have never managed to get a mummy before (largely due to my reluctance to cheat), so I can't say anything about that. However, I've had about ten different SimBots over many different games, and I once had a couple of them doing NPC jobs, like babysitter and maid. The maid was useless, as she kept on shorting out! :)
Getting a mummy doesn't require that you cheat. Yea it's easier but not required. If you want one without cheating, simply travel (take precautions due to severe bugs) find sarcophagus pieces. Put together a cursed sarcophagus of the kings, have a sim sleep in it for 16-30 hours, (not positive I always do 2 days to make sure it works), wake them up and poof you have a mummy!

There are two kinds of Sarcophagus of the Kings:  Blessed and Cursed.  You need the Cursed one to turn your Sim into a mummy.

However, this is getting off topic.  There are other threads to discuss mummies.

I would be laughing if one of them will need to repair the shower and get wet alover. I will be laughing even more if this also happens to mummies who will come back NPC as a fireman.

But wait a sec, you mean actually that every simbots you release into the wild can go back as a NPC? Does this also counts for butlers? That way we have the ability to actually create our own butlers, haven't we?

I don't believe so. But I'm not sure. I never kept mummies I got. They were too creepy for my super skill sim who has a vampire wife, a simbot sun, and a mummy. The mummy is creepy!

I think that if you released/moved a mummy out and placed it somewhere in your neighborhood, preferrably giving it traits like Brave and Daredevil first, they could turn out to be firefighters... Well, it's a possibility.

"Oh no my house is burning!" "It's ok, here comes the firefighter!" "Why is he walking so slowly?": Epic.

I don't think that any released/moved out sims (including the different lifestates) can become maids, pizza deliverers, social workers or repairmen, because these jobs don't really "exist" for playable sims. Not sure about butlers.

Dear God! Kill it! Kill it! It's a toddler with not only mummy characteristics, but also the adult mummy skin. I've got videos of it crawling, and it looks like one of those awful geists from World of Warcraft: Rise of the Lich King.

...I think I'm having nightmares tonight. I hope my computer doesn't explode.

Lol, Ausette. There are much more scary monsters in the new EP. Okay... getting off topic here...

I'm going to buy lots of Simbots and release them... or maybe I'll make a "zoo" and trap my Simbots in a fence on a community lot... My sim will defiantly visit that often! Now to infect my town...

All you've said sounds really logical to me. Giving the mummies the apropiated traits before being released into the wild... Great idea, that I didn't thought of myself before, it's so logical actually. Ofcourse you have to do that! And that story of you is indeed epic. Ha, mummy strumbling to the stoof to take care of that burned egg will result in your house burning down to asses. Lovely!
Uhm, I believe I sound a bit pyromaniac now... :§

Since Ausette dug this topic up on another thread (and I didn't want to get off-topic on that one), I figured this would be the best place for this.

While I'm not sure how it actually works with releasing simbots/mummies "into the wild,"  perhaps there's a way to spur this along:  after releasing the simbot/mummy into the wild, find where they went, change active households and get them married.  Then, switch back to the regular household and let "nature" take it's course.

Good idea Hosfac. But if the 'bug' is in the married stage it may will not work to get baby mummies. Though, I can not be sure about that of course.

@Ausette: Are you already working on a guide for this? I'm still interested.

Well, my theory is that story progression is what triggers this glitch.  And since a baby is the logical outcome of a married couple in the process of story progression, ensuring that the freed simbot/mummy doesn't live out their life as a bachelor or bachelorette could actually encourage it.

Of course, interfering with it at all could just as easily prevent it.  Thus, I have no other choice but to experiment with it.

I finally found this older thread on simbot hybrids.  I didn't want to post on Pam's story thread and I didn't want to start a new one if there was one aleady here.  Anyway, I decided to try for a simbot hybrid and I actually got one.  Since Max Skills had so many happiness points, I put him in a new neighborhood and bought 5 simbots and moved them out on their own.  I went ahead and played Max, because I wanted to see if any of the simbots got a mate.  Well, success.  When I moused over a simbot, it said he had a girlfriend and it was Jamie Jolina.  I sent Max over to chat and when he got there, she ran in the bathroom and got sick.  I thought, hmmm.  So I changed active households and sure enough, she was pregnant and her only boyfriend was Tavares Skills, the simbot.  She had a baby girl and the message came up, she already had handiness and inventing skills, so I knew the baby was a simbot.  I named her Tavara, after her dad.  The nooboo had the metallic voice and everything.  When she aged up into a youth, she walked just like Pam's did, her arms and legs got real long while she was walking and then she went back to normal when she stopped.  It is the stranges thing to watch, but she is so cute.  Unfortunately, she has those hiking boots on, with a long skirt and a top that does not match and of course you can't change her clothes, lol.  It did not even take 2 sim weeks for all of this to happen.  I will post some screenshots if anyone is interested in seeing them.  I just didn't put them on photobucket yet, but I will be glad to share them. :)

That's interesting! I wonder if the kid will turn out looking just like Jamie Jolina just male version since he can't get any features from his dad.  :)

EDIT: Oh whoops I thought the hybrid was a boy but It's actually girl. Should look just like Jamie then.  :D

As a youth, she looks like her mom, so I would imagine that won't change.  I have a short video clip in facebook and for some reason, I can't seem to get it posted.  I will keep trying. :)

I wondered the same thing about Uriah.  His mother was elderly by the time I started playing her, so I didn't get to see her as an adult, only elder.  But I figured Uriah had to take her looks.
