That's so crazy, Pam. Do you even own a snow shovel?

No, we don't have a snow shovel.  I don't think anyone even sells them here.  We're close to a foot on the ground now and the weather service is saying it's the largest recorded snowfall in North Texas.  My husband had to come home from work to get something he forgot and he got stuck in the snow on the street as he was leaving to go back to work!  It took him several minutes, but he finally got it going.  This is the most amazing thing I've seen here, I think.  Except maybe for the grapefruit sized hail in 1992.

Are there even snow plows to deal with this? The city must be paralyzed!

No snow plows either unless they have kept them hidden from me for the past 50 years.  I haven't been watching the news, but I imagine the city is having a rough time.  It's a densely populated area.  Dallas/Fort Worth has about 3 million people in the Metroplex (includes all the suburbs around and between the two cities).  We're prepared for ice with trucks that put down sand, but not snow!

It's still snowing a little.  Not nearly as much as before, but still falling.  You can see it in these pictures taken at 3:30 a.m. Central Time.

My poor young bushes are overwhelmed:

The official ruler measures just over 8 inches in my back yard:

I live in Florida now, so snow is kind of a thing of the past (although we did get flurries about a month ago). I grew up in the midwest (Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota) so I have many memories of snow and blizzards. I kind of miss it. Not driving in it, but there was something cozy about being in a warm house while it snowed outside. I remember when we were kids, we would wake up at 5 to listen to the radio so we could find out if we had school or not.
My sister is in Maryland and sent me a picture of her deck. They had snow all the way up to the railings. BTW, Pam, I love your house...have you tried to recreate it in game?

Nice house Pam...can't see much of it though. :D

Good Luck to all who are snow-bound!  Here in the desert we have had enough rain in Jan/Feb for the next 2 yrs worth. :o  Much more better than slogging through the snow!

Must be one of those crazy years for weather. :P

I live in Maryland and school has been closed all week :D The snow went over the gate separating me and my neighbors yards so it looks like one giant back yard. I wish I could take a picture but after shoveling the driveway I'm not going back out there.

My dad has a snow shovel and he taught me how to use it.

Well, as you might guess from my username, I'm in Sweden, so snow isn't really anything special here. It's about 0.3 metres outside (don't know nor care what that's in inches), which is relatively little. Where our big snowtrucks have gone through though you can get small hills of snow that's about 2-3 metres that all children love playing in.

It's a little funny what Americans (and UK citizens for that matter) classify as a "blizzard". When it's -15 degrees Celsius you're supposed to be able to walk the 5 km to school here, and I'm not joking now. Noone ever closes anything for a blizzard here (except maybe an outside spa facility or something), and if you call something a blizzard, you're not supposed to be able to go out without suffocating. It's a common joke hereabout how some few inches is a snowstorm for other people.

Right now, it's at average -10 degrees C, and I'm walking around with my jacket open (with a t-shirt beneath) just because that jacket is too warm otherwise!

Thank you.  Yes, I've recreated it in the game, but I've reinstalled Sims 3 since then and don't have the file.  And I've somehow lost the screenshots of it, too.  :(

I hear you Swede. The UK comes to a complete stop and we had about 3 - 5 inches all over the country. What's worse is our grit and salt supplies came very low! I still hold a grudge over the postman being too wimpy to come up the hill in the snow to give me my WA copy.  :)
