Wow, I just read through this entire thread and saw the photo of your red ghost gardener in the Weird Pictures thread.
That sounds like such an annoying problem! That gardener and his clones are seriously stalking you!

@Playalot I tried that after I posted yesterday and nope they are still bugged.. I don't really want to get rid of this fun legacy but it's frustrating at the same time.

I went and moved them outside of the town they were in, and into a fresh town, somehow the gardeners followed even though I took the family from the manage household section.

@oshizu  it is annoying, especially when the npc's constantly walk through the front door uninvited, it's a pain having them on the front porch but I can deal with that, it's when they just invite themselves in that it becomes irritating cause they end up taking glasses of water and leaving them everywhere.. upside I know it's a bug so hopefully it will be fixed eventually..

If you just moved houses with them, even from one world even to another, that won't change anything. It would have to be a brand new save file. The whole save file will be bugged so I think at this stage it is either cope with the glitch (yuk, horrible option) or relocate the family into a brand new save/game.

Another tip, when you get bugs like this (general 'you') it is always best to exit the game and not exit to main menu. Quitting to the main menu can spread the bugs to other save files.

@Playalot  I did start a brand new save and pulled the family from the household management section, the bug followed, so I'll just deal with the annoyance of them being at the front door and randomly coming inside... will probably just use them as food for Vlad and his vampiric offspring instead of feeding them plasma packs.. can't beat food living on your doorstep..

Oh My!! I didn't realize that it was the family that was glitched. Usually starting a new game leaves the bug behind. Do you quit to main menu when you save? That can transfer bugs from one save to another... That is the only other thing I can think of that would be causing all your games to be bugged with this.

Sorry I can't think of any other work around, but at least, like you say, your vamps will never go hungry.

Sorry I can't think of any other work around, but at least, like you say, your vamps will never go hungry.

I rarely quit to the main menu, only tend to do it once in a blue moon, I usually either do the save then just exit, or I'll do the save, then save and exit so there is a double save..

What ever happened to you and your ever-present gardeners?
I had the same issue with massage therapists last year but, after 2 weeks, they (yes, they multiplied) went away after I moved the massage tables to family inventory.

Today, I've noticed that the gardener I hired yesterday "spent the night" standing in my sims' garden. Dismissing or firing him doesn't make him leave.
After traveling with the gardener to a different lot then returning home, my sim found the gardener there already.

I'm limited to what I can do as a solution or work-around, because I'm playing this particular save as one of the forum's dynasty challenges.
Did your gardener issue persist until you created a new household?

I just checked EA Answers and I see that the bug thread for this issue was revived a week ago.Grrrr

@oshizu  they disappeared on me about two updates ago, one day they were there, next day an update came through and they were gone...

There really is no work around to them, it's really a sad case of ignore them and deal with their annoying ways when they decide to pop up.
It didn't matter if I created a new household or anything, they still followed and got stuck, I'm not sure how they disappeared exactly, just that one day they were there, the next day an update came through and they were gone... Haven't hired an NPC since just in-case I get the same issue.

Thanks for the follow-up!
My heir recently moved out, leaving the rest of her family behind, and their fourth gardener (because I deleted three in Manage Households) didn't follow the heir to her new home.
Good thing, too, because he'd started singing all the time, haha.

I don't think mine disappeared due to yesterday's patch, though, because he was still there after I updated. Who knows?
Well, I'm going to try and not think about it anymore, lol.
And like you, I'm going to avoid hiring NPCs (except nannies) as much as possible.
