Exception Raised Error

I know this happens a lot and it has been happening to me and my friends, but what does this really mean? I get a message something like this when I'm in the middle of playing the Sims 3, or when I have Twallan's mods installed (NRAAS mods) and try to launch the game:

Exception Raised
Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000018 at address 0x00728271
Do you wish to debug it?

Clicking yes or no makes absolutely no difference, and it will crash your game either way.
Can someone explain what the unhandled page fault is?
Why it happens on Sims 3?
How to clean up my game to avoid this error in the future?

I'm not entirely sure why this error keeps coming up or what it really means, other than there is an error of some sort.
