How to fix FPS

I just downloaded and installed the sims 4 onto my computer. I noticed it was moving extremely fast. For some reason I didn't think much of it. I soon discovered I am not able to go into live mode. The days and nights go by like crazy and then the game freezes. I started up the sims and did the fps on cheat, and I discovered the fps jumps from 0.00 to 163.00! Is there anything I can download to fix this? I don't know much about technical stuff, especially with computers. Please leave a link to a download if there is something to fix this.

You can limit FPS in game as well as using Nvidia Control Panel, if you have an Nvidia graphics card. I'm not sure about AMD cards.

If you have an Nvidia graphics card you could tweak the settings

Nvidia Control Panel Settings
1. Right click on the desktop and select NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Select Manage 3D Settings.
3. Select Program Settings tab.
4. Click Add.
5. Select The Sims 4 and click Add Selected Program.
6. Choose the preferred graphics processor to use from the drop menu and select High-Performance NVIDIA Processor.
