Social Media Star

Goal
Social media is a big factor in becoming famous. How far can you advance in the Social Media career and how many followers can you secure in a short period of time? (Thanks to LenaLJ for this challenge idea)

General Challenge Rules
The General Challenge Rules always apply. If applicable, exceptions will be noted below.

Specific Challenge Rules

• This challenge requires the City Living expansion pack.
• Create one young adult Sim. Alien or human, vampires are not allowed.
• No moving anyone in.
• You must choose the Private Dwelling lot trait and the debug cheat to purchase a satellite to prevent abductions.
• The Connections reward is banned.
• It's player choice for which branch of the Social Media career to pursue.
• The "Stream Let's Play" interaction in the Games section is banned.
• The game ends when your Sim ages to adult.

Scoring
Followers/1000. When your Sim ages up to Adult, go to a computer one last time and check your Total Followers in the Social Media section and divide the number by 1000. The reason we're asking you to do this is it's possible to get followers in the millions and for the purposes of the leaderboard, we want smaller, manageable numbers.

Career Level. This is a multiplier -- everyone starts with 1.00 and for every Social Media career level you obtain by the time your Sim ages up to Adult, add 10% (.10) to the multiplier.

Total. Just multiply your Followers by the Career Level multiplier for your final score.

Ch-Ch-Changes
The team does not want to edit and make changes to the ruleset once this event goes live, but we may have to. If an exploit is brought to our attention or we discover something else we reserve the right to ask affected players to redo their effort.

Have Questions?
Please think hard before you ask in the challenge thread because it may be strategy. What you may consider an innocent question could cause another player to go — “oh, I did not think of doing that.” It’s always safer to PM everyone on the team (Metro, ratchie, LenaLJ, Trip, and MarianT) for clarifications. Short and sweet -- My Sim became an adult with 535,130 followers and was at level 6 of her profession. 535 x 1.6 = 856.

Calvin Bateman reached  level 6 profession while gaining 2,029,181 followers. 2,029 x 1.6 = 3,246.4

This one was fast and painless

after a lot of screaming and about a million test runs, my sim reached level 6 of her profession with 1,985,260 followers

1985260/1000 = 1,985
1,985 x 1.6 = 3176

Truncate. If your score is 2308.1 you would just post 2308. If it was 2308.9 you'd still post 2308.

Great score, Ginj -- yeah I think participation in this one will be high given its simplicity. I am going to knock this one out myself this week.

My Sim had 268,587 followers and reached level 6 of her career.

268,587 / 1000 = 268.  268 x 1.6 = 428.


As usual, the challenge pushed me to try new things and learn more about the game.  Thank you to everyone who made this challenge possible and to those who participated.
