Oh!! I turned to talk to him and he vanished. I didn’t even get his name

“May I help you?” I turned to see a beautiful woman gliding towards me

At first I was too tongue tied to say anything. My first real ghost. I have no idea why I was so scared, I mean, I am married to a Vampire, so ghosts shouldn’t be a problem right??... So why am I just staring at her?

“Are you OK dear? Your staring at me is now becoming rather awkward” She said with a kind smile

I quickly clear my head with a shake and start explaining that I was here hoping to talk to a .. well somebody.. to see if Nina was with them.. you know.. in the afterlife

“I am not sure I can help you sweet girl. I can see your distress, but this other world is rather large. People float in and out of here rather quickly and I do not get to meet or even see most of them”

I explain that I know I am taking a chance, but perhaps if I described her?

“Sweetheart.. telling me she has red hair and green eyes really doesn’t help me here.. We are only the colours of our emotions when we died”

And then I remember.. I have photos of her!

“How fabulous!! What a wonderful contraption that is! Time really is a fascinating thing.. I died so many years ago, but it seems time stands still when you are dead, but for the living? Well… it’s like you are all moving in triple time!”

I didn’t want to interrupt her excitement, but I could feel that I was running out of courage and I knew that this may be my only chance to ask, especially on my own

“I don’t know if I should apologise or congratulate you.. but I can confirm that I have definitely not seen your sister here, or anywhere else. I can not say for sure that she is alive, of course, but at least I can give you some comfort knowing that she isn’t here.”

I attempt to give her a hug in thanks, and then realise my mistake. Luckily, she just chuckled and floated away.. My immediate feeling is relief, then it quickly turns to worry.. Where is she?? If she is not dead.. where on earth could she be?

I can’t go back to the house yet, I’m too anxious. I can’t have Caleb thinking that I don’t trust or believe in him.. Oh my little baby inside.. I can feel you moving.. what a wonderful distraction you are to me

@MarianT - Yes, where is Nina?? hahaha Thank you so much for your comments, and Lilith is so much fun to experiment styles with. She just has this face and manner that screams the early 1900's to me. But it doesn't stop me from trying to bring her screaming and crying into the 21st century either!

“Are you finding my artefact today Lilith?” Caleb whispers to her.

“Yes, I am going to get it today, I’m taking your wife with me actually” Lilith says with a smile

“Ahh.. then that explains the new… shall I say.. Look?” Caleb bites his lower lip to stop himself from smiling

“I thought it was time to become more relaxed in my style.. after all, there will be a young person in the house soon”

I could hear their voices as I was coming down the stairs, I was wondering where Lilith was taking me today

“Moring Dina” Lilith grinned

I smiled hesitantly at her. Although we have not had any major altercations recently, I am still rather weary of her happy and friendly demeaner

“If it pleases you, I would like to take you somewhere special today.. I hope that is alright?”

I’m immediately intrigued, I turn to look at my husband and see that he is grinning like a Cheshire Cat

How could I not say yes

“I’d love it if we could speak freely with one another today Dina, without worrying about hurting the others feelings”

I’m confused by her statement, does she want to insult me today without me complaining? I ask her to explain what she means

“I’m clearly not saying this correctly” Lilith sighs.. then after a few moments looks up and says “I would like us to be honest, but respectful to one another.. Is that more precise?”

Although I do understand what she means, I am a little nervous now on what she has planned for the day. I smile at her… with some apprehension

“Ok” Lilith smiles again “I’ll start.. If someone asked you how you would describe me in, say, a gesture.. what would you do?” Lilith leans forward with an encouraging smile on her face

So I take a deep breath and just…

“oh!” Lilith says sharply

I look up quickly to see if I have upset her

I remind her that she did start this ridiculous conversation, and I am 8 and a half months pregnant and VERY hormonal

“I am not offended Dina, I was just surprised it was a gesture of anger and not fear”  She said with a smile “ So! Shall we go?”

I give Caleb a kiss goodbye and I quickly whisper in his ear to save me from today, but he smiles kindly and sends me off with his sister. I take a deep breath and off we go..

Where on EARTH are we?

Oh no… this better not be some parenting classes, or pre-natal classes.. There is NO WAY I would consider doing any of those things with Lilith

“Welcome to the Baby and Toddler Haven Dina!” Lilith is grinning from ear to ear

I look at her quizzically

Lilith looks around, then says “Your baby is going to be born very soon, it’ time to set up the nursery!”

How could I have been so distracted as to not provide a space for my child? I’m horrified at myself and I can feel tears welling up and then Lilith leans in closer to me

“You didn’t forget sweet child. We have all been so wrapped up in our lives and adjusting to the changes, you would have sorted this out even if I hadn’t brought you here” She puts her hand on my arm

“I am certain of it.. Now take a deep breath and look around! I have Caleb’s credit card.. so we can buy the entire shop if you want!”

So I take a deep breath, smile with gratitude at Lilith and do as she says.. I take a look around

I turn to thank Lilith again for her thoughtful words and for bringing me here and I see that she is sitting in one of the cute little bear chairs

“Do you not think it is weird that only half of this shop is painted?” She says as she is staring at the walls

“I mean, what crazy person spends so much time building something like this, and then forgets to paint if properly!”

I can’t help but giggle at her childlike wonder

Lilith stands next to me and smiles “Isn’t this fun?”

I think for a moment and realise as I answer her.. actually yes.. it is

We spend a few hours in that beautiful, yet unfinished, shop. I do a lot of Umming and Ahhhing..  Lilith is incredibly patient. She doesn’t mind searching through every little bit of the shop to make sure we don’t miss a thing

“So have you decided on what you want sweet child?”

I am feeling giddy and nervous, because there is so much I want! But everything is so expensive

“I told you, I have Caleb’s credit card in my hot little hand here, do not fret on the price” Lilith smirks

“So let’s just spend big! I don’t think we have brought any new furniture for decades and I think it’s time to brighten the place up. So..  let’s start with your Boy’s room.. Shall we?”

So we head over to the counter and I start to explain which items I want to the assistant, Lilith steps forward and says

“Young man, I believe you are going to need a piece of paper and a pen, this is going to be a rather long list”

“We will be taking one of everything! In boys colours of course. Are you able to accommodate?”

I hide behind Lilith, I have no idea why I am embarrassed. Not by what she is saying, but by how much money we are spending

We are finally finished and I can’t help but grab Lilith in an embrace.

“You are so very welcome” Lilith closes her eyes and holds Dina tight

I made the Toddler and baby Haven shop and played too far ahead to change the ‘drywall’ effect! I have uploaded the shop to the gallery and it’s under #KTK10. You will notice that there are two versions on the gallery, one without the paint and one with.. I have been too lazy to remove the older version haha.

Choosing the floor and wall coverings usually comes last for me because that's a quick and easy step.
You did all the hard work of building structure, landscaping, and exterior decor. Looks great!

Dina remains suspicious of Lilith and I share her sentiments, haha.

@oshizu - I know right??!! hahaha.. I always leave the wall coverings for last too because it's the easiest thing.. I couldn't believe it when I looked at all the photos LOL. thanks for complimenting my shop anyway    Dina and Lilith are starting to become friends, I'll be interested if you come around to liking her by the end of the story.. MMMM

“I’m impressed! You got everything?” Caleb puts his hands on his hips in pride

“Yes brother, it is all here” Lilith responds

I’m so nervous when I walk into my baby’s room and see Caleb sitting there.. will he think that I have spent too much?

Caleb leans forward on the bear chair and looks at Dina “It is perfect my love”

I smile at Lilith with happiness

“We did well sweet child” Lilith smiles

“I think it’s time for a final outing” Caleb looks thoughtfully at the two most important women in his life

“It is time for formal wear my wife,  I am taking you out”

I’m so heavily pregnant! I ask Caleb how on earth I am going to fit into a formal dress?

And before I could even go to the bathroom, I’m dressed and feel.. well.. beautiful

Then ask like a young girl with excitement where we are going

“Isn’t this perfect my love?” Caleb looks so happy…me? Well.. there is some uncomfortable feelings going on right now, but I don’t want to spoil the night

So we get a table and after some serious handshakes (which I think involved exchanging money!) we got almost the same table as our first date.. I looked at it with wonder

It is so hard to believe that my life has changed so incredibly since I was last here

“Come sit my beautiful wife” Caleb eases himself into the sofa

However, I’m reading the menu and can’t seem to find anything that looks good

“WOW!! Have you seen how marvelous this menu is my love?” Caleb gasps

“Whatcha want dear?” The waitress stares at me with impatience.

After carefully choosing something that will hopefully get my stomach to settle, the waitress was back with our food with surprising efficiency! We were both quite shocked.. I guess it didn’t matter that it wasn’t at all what we ordered though..

I turn towards Caleb to joke with him, and find that he is already staring at me

“I am thinking we should make this night eternal” And as usual, whenever Caleb gets any ideas, he punctuates the statement with a raised finger

I then, of course, look down at my ever increasing stomach and then look a Caleb with my best “are you crazy??” look

“Oh come now Dina, this is our last night out together, we must fit in as much as possible”

I am obviously confused why he would think it was our last night

Caleb smiles at me smugly, “In case you have forgotten my love, there will be three of us from now on”

Speaking of the third part of our equation… OW!! I mean.. OUCH!! OUCH!!

“What is it? It can’t be our son yet, it is not time!” He looks on with concern

And just as quickly as it came, the pain vanished. But he did decide to jump around a lot.  Caleb quickly jumps up to feel him

He leans in a whispers to our son “Good boy, you are already listening to your Daddy”

I can’t help but feel content

“So are you ready for our next enchanting venue we will be visiting this evening?”

However much I wanted to protest, I still found myself at the spice festival.. mmmm… maybe some spicy food my encourage this little guy to come a bit earlier..

“I see that you may feel rather overdressed whilst being at the market, I took it upon myself to bring you a change of clothes” Caleb then leans in towards me, and I can smell his intoxicating aftershave “Although you could be wearing rags and have knotted hair and you would still be the most beautiful woman in this world”

I run off with new energy to get dressed and fix my hair, I come back to see him waiting patiently for me

“Shall we explore?” I smile at him and nod my head in agreement

As we are wondering around this incredible market, I begin to notice that there are a number of people that are dressed with their faces covered. Not that I am bothered by it, I just find the choice of their facial coverings to be.. shall I say it.. weird?

We reach the centre of the market and Caleb asks me to meet him back at the fountain, he has a small errand to do

But something catches my eye, I just feel drawn to it

Ahh.. ever since our honeymoon, I have been desperate to start my own garden. I wonder if it would be ok to just take some cuttings..

I hurry back to the fountain, and just in time too.. my husband scares the living daylights out of me be yelling “Surprise!!” and O M G…

“I thought it was time to be a little more whimsical! What do you think?” He looks so unsure of himself, I feel my heart melting again for such a funny and wonderful man. I hurry to assure him that it is perfect!

“Who’s your friend?” Caleb asks me

I turn from him in confusion, I wasn’t talking to anyone..

When I see this..  I want to say woman..  just staring at Caleb, saying nothing I feel a shiver running down my spine. Although you can’t see her eyes, I could feel waves of hatred pouring out of her

“Ah… excuse us please. Come Dina, let us explore some more” and with a quick glance behind me as we walk off, we head over to these bubble blower things. I am quite unsettled by the encounter with the Lama Head Woman (as she will be forever known as) and explain to Caleb that I didn’t even know that she was there.

“Think not another thought of it my love, come and try this.. URGH!”  Unable to finish his sentence, Caleb starts coughing uncontrollably

I feel that the smoke might be a bit much for our unborn boy, so I tell Caleb I’m going to go back to the garden area for a while.. there were a few plants there that I wanted to get a closer look at.

After a while though. I kept noticing that I was never quite alone

It was all starting to feel a bit creepy for me.. so I brought this crazy concoction called a “Moodlet Solver” from a guy called Soothsayer Guru.. of all things and just plonked myself down on the nearest seat.. and drank it.

I'm enjoying this so much! Dina's a townie I've never really played with, but always been interested in. I love the way you write her and everyone else in this story. It's particularly nice to know this is already finished! I just have to sit back and wait for more chapters to roll in.

The suspense is wonderful, and I can't wait to see how it all progresses. The woman emanating hatred in the llama mask is truly terrifying!

It is so great to observe how you are portraying Caleb with Dina.
He is ever-thoughtful, caters to Dina's every whim, is the ultimate romanticist, has weird moments of whimsical naivete (roasting marshmallows and now this Spice Festival T-shirt, lol), and appears like the all-around perfect husband.

You have been so amazing about setting up your overall story. I'm patiently waiting until the story reaches its end to inquire how you managed to keep Dina pregnant for so long.
No, I'm not asking now. I like being kept in suspense.     I love the stolen moments showing Dina secretly suffering in silence from her huuuuuuuuge stomache.
And I'm still wondering what all that business with Vladislaus was about.
