Achievements broken?

I'm not sure what is happening here but my achievements aren't saving.
I get all the same ones almost every time I play. Its pretty disheartening seeing all my hard work reset this way. I'm at a loss, what can I do friends? =(

Didn't want to leave your post unanswered.... but I don't know! I'm searching around trying to find out anything but my achievements are all functioning as normal for me so I am just not sure.

Have you deleted the localthumbcache.package file in case it is a cache issue?

No I don't think I've deleted that file. I'm very cautious about what I delete.

I delete that file after every time I play. I promise it is 100% safe to do and in fact I recommend it as it often clears up the smaller glitches and avoids bugs from one saved game merging into another which is what happens when you quit to the main screen instead of quitting to desktop.. Make sure you have quit your game first, don't need to have quit Origin tho.

Oh wait... are you talking about getting the same achievements in every new game that you start? Or about the achievements resetting from within the same game each time you play that file?

There is a bug report that discusses this here basically the achievements are new for each new game you play but there is a kind-of work around to avoid that.

So I was indeed talking about every new game having reset achievements. I read that thread and then loaded up an older game and I have tons of achievements in that save file. So is this a bug or was it designed this way? Because it seems like the particular achievements for player feats is supposed to roll over to all save games!

I'm not 100% sure but it seems that achievements are per save file and not per Origin Sims Account. I think it was reported that the achievements would be across the board for all games which has led to the confusion but basically each new game has its own set of achievements.

Well if it's not a bug thats sure a disappointment. I dont care for that mechanic at all but thank you for helping!

Okay, I'm a little confused.  So Achievements don't carry on your Orgin account they are per saved game. Meaning you can get the same achievements over and over and your points constantly reset with every new game. If that is the case that really is disappointing. I love to get achievements and hog achievements. Please tell me what you know!

If you start a game and play for five generations, for example, all the achievements you earn in that save file will not carry over when you start a new game.

Correct. In-game achievements such as 'In The Game' -Play The Sims for 24 hours etc, are save specific.
