Plantsims Bug

Hello lovely people!

First of alll, Happy Easter

So I updated my Origin (I have to update that darned program every...single...time...I...open...it!!!) and it presumably installed the latest patch which included the Plantsims event. Great! Who doesn't love plantsims, am I right? Only... whenever I try to place the tree stump down, my whole game crashes. I've tried repairing the game. I've tried restarting my pc. Nothing. The game runs perfectly until I do anything with the tree stump. I can talk to Plantsim NPC's. I can even get the magic beans. But that tree stump is a game killer.

Anyone else have this problem? And is there a work around? I tried to put a thread on the official forums, but for some reason I am unable to create a new thread. Weird that. Anyway... any assistance would be muchly appreciated.

I don't see any bug reports on crashing while trying to place a tree stump. So it might be worth reporting it in case there are others having the same issue.

Might be a silly suggestion but make sure you are placing the tree stump on your home lot. It takes quite a bit of space, a 4x4 grid.

Not a silly suggestion, but that's what I've been trying to do. I get the green grid saying I can place it, but when I try to, everything except my sims freezes up. So... my sims keep doing what they do, but I cannot click on anything at all and my mouse pointer has the tree stump thumbprint icon thingy attached to it all the time. I also cannot save or anything. Basically, I can't click on anything. I do not have mods installed, or CC and I don't even have moveobjects on at the time. I've tried it several times now and I get the same result.

My game freezes like that sometimes, too, though not with the Plantsim tree stump.  It happens to my game when the processor/graphics driver have too much to do and they can't keep up with the demands of the game.  To help, I lowered the graphics quality of the game and turned off some of the extra things, like reflective mirrors, etc.  After that, my game worked fine.

So, my suggestion is, try lowering some/all of the settings, maybe?

I did find a similar issue to yours, I don't know if it's exact, but wanted to mention it just in case.

Thanks. I read all that and Crinrict's post. The issue I have doesn't fall into any of those categories. I don't use custom content at all, or mods. The house I have is not large. My sims don't have much in their inventory. My pc is fairly good.. probably the bottom of the high end spec. And this is the only issue I've ever had in Sims 4. Everything else works perfectly. Hehe I never seem to fit the box.

There seems to be a lot of issues with this event. I did find a new post at AHQ that talks about not being able to place the tree stump.
