Turned a Sim without taking plasma

This is my insane, outgoing and romantic vampire Sim who is currently on a turning spree and in an eating and ability-using frenzy in order to get experience. In this picture, he is wondering and so am I on the other side of the screen, because Candy Behr was just turned without him taking plasma from her first. He simply offered his wrist, she indulged herself, and ta-da. Is this a thing or is it merely another bug in the pile?

Update: Dominic Fyres and Don Lothario also just took plasma without being drained themselves. In Don's case, he didn't like that my vampire approached him (2 minuses), but did like taking my vamp's plasma (2 pluses). Curious.

Hmm, a glitch I guess. At least the actual 'turning' is still working.

I see. Well, what a boring game TS4 would be without the bugs and glitches.

Has this "glitch" disappeared now that the patch has come out?

@oshizu Thank you. It hasn't happened yet. Of course, he's running short of Sims to turn, so he hasn't been at it that many times today. But I'll post if it does occur post-patch

Edit: Yes, it happened with Bella Goth this time.

I just had Caleb Vatore turn my Sim and it worked just fine, as it should, he drank from her and then she from him. Maybe it still works properly with the original Maxis created Vampires? Or perhaps it is a bug that only affects some people?

A bug most likely. I haven't tried after the bowling stuff came out though. Maybe it's fixed. But actually, it should suffice to drink the vampire's plasma since that's what turns the Sim. A vampire drinking a Sim's plasma just provides nourishment in and of itself.
