Moving a House/Family between Saves
« on: March 04, 2017, 05:26:23 AM »
Hi,   For what every magical reason (I think because I clicked create new) I now have 2 main game save branches:

  • The Bluffs
  • The Douchemasters and 3-4 other previous families

The All my families where in the Douchmaster save; eg set up lots, etc restaurants etc.
However the new family the Bluffs (who live in an rental apartment) is in a separate save game.  The rental that is chosen does not overlap with another family I have.

How can I move The Bluffs & there house into the other save game to have 1 main game save with many families ?

Thanks

Save the Bluffs to your library. Save the Bluffs house to your inventory if it one you have built yourself and not just a Maxis made house. Open the game with the Douchemasters and download the saved house and family. Now all your sims are in one save/game.

To save an apartment, remove one section of wall between every room so that the apartment basically becomes one big room and save as a 'room' to your library. I usually delete the wall where the doors are as it is generally the easiest to replace one downloaded into a new game.

Thanks Playalot.

I did try that - but I noticed that to move back in - my toon only had level 1 skills not the skills they had trained them too
and the apartment room - I had to pay for it.

I was hoping to avoid the above; Is there away ?

PS:Great idea about removing doors - I will use that for sure.

Thanks

You will need to pay for any room etc that you place but deleting the original should give you money back etc. You can always use the money x cheat to even out the amount.

I don't know why your saved sim did not have their skills as I save sims regularly and place them into new games and they always keep their skills and careers too. Are you sure you placed the played sim and not the original (newly made) sim?
