front stage kit doesn't work

Hello, it's been a while.  I have a singer level 10 in a town without venues.  He just sing for tips and in his own yard using the front stage kit.  However, the kit doesn't work anymore.  I only have the option of putting in the inventory and placing it.  Nothing else. 

I've tried resetting sim.  Also the town through Master Controller.  I've had this happen before and usually putting it in the inventory and back out fixes it.  But not this time.

Can anyone give me some suggestions.  I'm missing it very much.

Are you sure that this can't be due to moveobjects on ? Did you use it during the same session ?

Thanks for your suggestion.  I wouldn't have thought of that.  I tried putting the moveobjects on & off, to no avail.  I still have no singer options.

Any other ideas?

I haven't played any of the Showtime careers, but maybe what you can try is a factory reset and a new game with the Sim as a test to see if their stage works in a new game?
