Looking for a new desktop/laptop

I've only had my laptop for 2 years but it keeps crashing the game or displaying blue screens of death. I think I have a RAM or possibly an OS issue. I currently have a Lenovo ideapad z710: Windows 8.1, Intel core i7 2.40 GHz, Intel HD Graphics 4600.

I'm looking into buying a new laptop or desktop, preferably at or under $800. I have a LCD Dell monitor from my Dad's old office with DVI/VGA connectors and 1280 x 1024 resolution, if that changes anything.
