EA Sims 3 survey
« on: December 07, 2010, 05:30:44 PM »
I'm subscribed to the EA newsletter and got an email about taking part in a suvey, with £4 to spend at the EA store. Well, bit skeptical but went for it. After a few questions about yourself and gameplay it got right into ranking what I would like to see next in sims 3. Well, it all pointed to there being either extra outdoors skils (one response was about buying binoculars and learning a new skill on bird watching), magic and spells (lots of responses pointed towards it), and some other baking-type skill. Also asked to rank the best scenario in a world, which was about a spa town with a magical forest attached to it. And off course it asked lots of questions about what i like in the sims 3 store, where it focused in particular about whether I would buy a magical haunted library that may have spell books, magical paintings, secret doors, and something else that I can't remember.

Anyhow, if this is any indication of what we're going to be getting it looks like it's all about the magic  :)

Have any of you taken this survey?

Magic content does not surprise me in the least for the next Sims 3 expansion. Makin' Magic was the final and probably most popular Sims 1 expansion.

I think Apartment Life in Sims 2 was pretty popular, as well, since it had magic/witchcraft.

No, I haven't taken the survey. Will it work for non-suscribers if you post a link to it here? Information and Simpoints, sounds good to me!

As for magic, it was the last expansion pack to come out for both Sims 1 and Sims 2, so I'm surprised to hear of it this early! On other news, a new Outdoor Stuff Pack has been announced, which could be cool. :)

No, it doesn't necessarily mean there won't be any more expansion packs.  I don't think EA is ready to finish up Sims 3 yet.

That just meant for that particular sims game, it was the last pack.  Who knows what will be next.  I just know, it gets awful cloudy in in BP and it looks like night time in the daytime and it is clouds, so who knows, could have something to do with weather too.  I am still having too much fun with this one right now anyway. ;)

I'm going to be very upset if Sims 3 becomes Sims 4 without a pets EP! Waiting for pets is a major reason why I keep playing every day!

I don't think this survey has to do with any expansion packs. It sounds more like store item ideas. Also some of the items like the surfing machine, vending machine, cologne, and some others were in the sims 1 & sims 2.

I don't think it's all about store items. There's a big chunk about a new world. True, they could sell it the same way as BB, in anticipation for a magicky EP maybe. But it seems to me to be all about the new feel of a place, what new skills to introduce (and you don't get this in the store), etc. Maybe they will make a new world like BB as a hint of what the next EP will be.

I believe just magic isn't enough to make an expansion pack out of. Since programming a magic skill isn't too complicated, (there are TS3 mods that include magic. *Sorry I know discussing mods isn't allowed, but I was just proving a point.). They could create a magic set with furniture and possible a town, and sell it for $15. The set wouldn't require as many man hours as an expansion pack, and it would sell like crazy.

If EA did make a Magic expansion pack, it would most likely be similar to Sim 1, Making Magic, with a magic vacation world and what not. (One thing I loved about Making Magic, was the pet dragons! I remember making them a huge garden of flowers, to eat! :) ) EA might even just include magic in an expansion pack, like Sims 2, Apartment living.
