Re-Vamped Bloodlines, A Rivalry Dynasty--Pyre, Week One, Part Two
« Reply #15 on: March 11, 2017, 10:05:03 PM »
Pippin:  We return to Day Wokkers where Katrina is totally not using her attractive daughter and daughter's buff baby daddy to bring in more diners.

Sam:  Hey, Pippin, was that sarcasm?
Pippin:  Yes, I'm surprised you followed that, honestly.
Sam:  ...Katrina might have told me it was...
Pippin:  And speaking of Katrina,

Pippin:  She's about to be a grandma again!
Katrinia:  Wow.  Way to make a girl feel old, Pippin.
Pippin:  I...that is...have I mentioned you're beautiful?
Katrina:  Smooth, Romeo.
Pippin:  It takes a while before Dina begins to show, but it takes her almost no time to finish paintings.

Don:  you're so talented, baby.  You might be the greatest painter since...some painter...who's really good...and famous...
Dina:  You're so bad at flattery, but it's okay, 'cause you're cute.
Don:  Thanks, babe!

Pippin:  And after Sam completes preparing 3 gourmet meals at an event (house party), he has only one more accomplishment left before he completes his aspiration.  Of course, it's achieving level 8 of he culinary career and he's only level 4 (thanks to connections).
Sam:  And speaking of connections, my wife became less connected to our baby.

Katrina:  That was a truly horrible transition, Sam.
Sam:  Thanks!  I don't know what "transition" means.
Katrina:  We noticed.
Pippin:  And the restaurant keeps moving closer to the elusive 5-star rating.

Sam:  Hello, would you like to eat here?  Because we totally sell food at this restaurant!
Vann:  Excuse me, I noticed there's smoke rising from your body while you're in the sun.  You don't happen to be a vampire, do you?
Sam:  What? Vampire?  No way!  That smoke was here when I walked out.
Vann:  Sounds legit.  Table for the wife and I, please.
Sam:  What wife?
Vann:  She's right...hmmm, seem to have misplaced her again.  Be right back.
Pippin:  And things of this nature keep happening.

Nina:  In his defense, I am irresistible.
Sam:  It's true.
Pippin:  So true.
Katrina:  Hey!
Pippin:  And we move closer to that 5th star.

Diners:  I feel like we should get lines.

Sam:  I'd like a promotion.
Wishing Well:  I'd like a more prominent role in this storyline.  Guess we can't have everything we want, now can we?
Sam:  Ummm...yes...?
Pippin:  But someone else will definitely be playing a more prominent role.

Pippin:  the now-toddler-aged Cam Pyre!
Nina:  You know, her name sounds kind of like "vampire."
Sam:  What?  That's crazy talk!

Pippin:  Why so glum while you're with your granddaughter, Katrina?
Katrina:  Grandparent.  Makes me feel old.  I need to start dating again.
Pippin:  Well, the restaurant has hit 5 stars and it is the final day of your week.  Why not?

Pippin:  Young Cam is a dancing queen, Dina is obviously pregnant, and Katrina has a manfriend over.

Pippin: Isn't he a little old for you?
Katrina:  Oh, Pippin, that was such a sweet thing to say!
Pippin:  ...you're welcome?

Dina:  Really, mom?
Katrina:  Just play your Blikbloks, Dina.
Dina:  (sigh) Okay.

Nina:  ...and you have my permission to be cute, but not as cute as me.  Unless it's equal because you look like me in which case people will say, "She's so cute because she looks just like her mom."  That would be fine.
Pippin:  Excellent parenting.  And speaking of parenting...

Pippin:  say hello to baby Dean!
Dina:  Hello, baby Dean.
Pippin:  I wasn't being literal.  And on our final day with the household...

Pippin:  Sam hits level 5 of his career...and is frightened by his new work attire?
Sam:  I didn't change myself into these clothes, so...?
Pippin:  Yes.  Creepy.  Ending on a cheerier thought...

Pippin:  Cam Pyre.

Sam has hit level 8 of cooking (and level 3 in mixology as well as level 5 or 6 in gourmet cooking), the restaurant has 1 day of a 5 star rating, and the current restaurant value is approximately 60K.

Wow, Sam and friends really make excellent progress in their first week! So impressive!
Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway), I absolutely love the restaurant name.... rofl

I think it's quite shameless that Don parades around the restaurant in his briefs!
What about having him change into a speedo for a classier look? (kidding...)

So many great one-liners that it's hard to pick a favorite. Hey, that wishing well of Sam's is waaaayyy outta line!
Cam Pyre (lol, dat name!) is adorable and I love Nina lecturing her about cuteness permissions.

Do you have any issues with toddlers at your restaurant lot? In my first try, the toddlers were greyed out and described as being "At daycare."
So for my 2nd try, my restaurant family only visits the restaurant lot when the restaurant is open. Did you discover a toddler work-around?

Ahhh yes, my patience has been rewarded!
A marvelous update, filled with success and silliness. I love it!!! <3

Pippin:  We now join the Von Carloff household where Boris is trying to become a public enemy.

Boris:  So your name's J?  I'm assuming it's because you couldn't spell anything larger than that?
Pippin:  He's doing well.
Boris:  Oh look!  The circus must be in town because I just found the bearded lady!

Random Mixologist:  Uh, I'm a guy...
Boris:  I doubt that.
Pippin:  Yes.  He's doing very well.  But he's doing more than just insulting people.

Bella:  ...anyway, Kaitlin, this is Boris.  I think you two will really hit it off.
Boris:  Well hello, beautiful lady!
Pippin:  Okay, she's lovely, but there's not enough room in the household for a baby mama and a baby.  And why did you just change your aspiration to serial romantic?  And why are you kissing her?

Pippin:  Wait, now why are you kissing Zoe?

Pippin:  And Bella?!?  Wait, you're really racking up the satisfaction points.  Never mind.  Carry on.
Boris:  Actually, I think I'll research vampire lore and chat with dear Eliza.

Boris:  So, Eliza, I think you and I get along rather famously.
Eliza:  Oh, I agree!
Boris:  So, with that in mind, if your husband were to be in some sort of horrible accident and die a terrible, agonizing death, do you think there'd be a chance you and I could be together?
Eliza:  What?  You mean if I were single would I go for you?
Boris:  Yes.  That.  That's what I meant.
Eliza:  (giggles)  Of course I would.
Boris:  I'm so delighted to hear it.

Bob:  Dang, Nancy, you're lookin' fine today!
Nancy:  Umm, no.  Just no.
Bob:  Dang it.  How is Boris so smooth?  Why can't I be more like him?
Pippin:  Well, he is a vampire...and apparently a public enemy again?

Pippin:  Oh.  You ran into J again.

Pippin:  Oh.  And here's Dominic.  You know, you're really just flying through this aspiration.
Boris:  Oh, just you wait.  My favorite part's coming up soon.
Pippin:  I don't know whether to be excited or scared.

Pippin:  Oh.  You took Bella out on a date to Day Wokkers.  I guess I won't be excited or scared.  Just confused.
Boris:  How's the nigiri?
Bella:  Excellent.  In fact, I think I've even figured out how to prepare it.
Boris:  Oh?  Isn't that delightful.
Boris and Bella:  (laugh as if at some private joke)
Pippin:  I'm missing something...

Pippin:  And while Bella prepares some nigiri...
Boris:  Hey, Bob, I really appreciate all the hard work you've done on the garden, so I'm having Bella make you a special treat.
Bob:  Thanks, man!
Pippin:  Badly prepared nigiri?  That sounds safe.

Pippin:  And it turns out it was safe as Bob escapes simply with embarrassment for being so bad with chopsticks and a case of aftertaste.
Boris:  Not to worry.  We move on to plan B.

Boris:  Bob, old pal, I know how much you love swimming, so I had a pool put in for you.
Bob:  Wow, you're the best, Boris!

Boris:  Oh, OH!  Skinny dipper, eh?  I'll just keep looking straight ahead.  Though it is too sunny out here.  We need walls.  And a roof.  And some plants.

Bob:  I'm...getting kind of...tired over here...think you could...move the planters...so I can...get out?
Boris:  Hush, Bob,  need to read up on vampire lore.
Bob:  Oh...okay...man...

Boris:  Bella!  He's finally done!

Bella:  Oh look.  Grim's coming.

Pippin:  And of course, Boris takes this opportunity to flirt with Bella while the Reaper is collecting poor Bob's soul.
Boris:  Hey, I saw an opportunity, so I took it.  Speaking of opportunities...

Boris:  Eliza, my poor darling, you must be devastated!
Eliza:  I...I just can't believe he's gone.
Boris:  I know.  It's a horrible loss.  But fear not, I'm here for you.
Eliza:  Thanks, Boris.  You're the best.
Boris:  Too true.

Pippin:  What better way to grow as a vampire than with some vampiric sparring?

Diego:  First rule of vampire fight club:  you do not talk about vampire fight club.

Boris:  Oh, hey, Kaitlin!
Kaitlin:  Wow.  You sure are beating up that little old lady well.
Boris:  Wow.  So sassy.  So much spunk!
Pippin:  Yes.  Kaitlin is on my short list for future generations spouse options.

Pippin:  Boris' first trip to the wishing well gave him a boost to job performance.

Pippin:  His second trip got him fired, and despite having connections, he was rehired at level 1.
Boris:  I am not amused.
Pippin:  Neither is Bella.

Grim:  So, you wanna get a drink later?  Maybe catch a movie?
Bella:  Umm, I'm already with someone.
Grim:  You mean your loser husband?
Bella:  No, I mean Bo...yes.  My loser husband.  That's who I mean.
Pippin:  And after going out with "not her loser husband," something a bit unusual happened.

Boris:  Well, in their defense, I am quite the excellent specimen, so of course they'd want to examine me.
Pippin:  And possibly impregnate you?
Boris:  Wait.  What now?
Pippin:  But no such luck.  Anyway, the household is doing well as Eliza and Cassandra have both advanced with their art as seen here.

Cassandra:  (mumbling) No pictures.  Want sleep.
Pippin:  And dear litte Alexander has taken on a very important role.

Alexander:  I'm just a sad little boy.  Will you come in and read to me?
Navya:  Oh, of course!

Boris:  Excellent work, Alexander!
Alexander:  Thanks!

Alexander:  Hi!  I don't have any friends my own age.  Would you like to come play with me?
Kourtney:  Oh, you poor dear!  Of course I would!

Boris:  That boy is awesome!
Alexander:  Thanks!
Pippin:  And Eliza's role in the household changes slightly.

Bob:  Umm, could you maybe not kiss my wife right in front of me?  I mean, she's still my wife, you know?  Hello?  Anyone?  Can you see me?
Eliza:  Oh, Boris!  You're so amazing.  I wish Bob would have kissed me like that.
Bob:  ...seriously?
Boris:  Never to fear, my darling, I shall treasure you always and never lose my passion for you!  Literally never, because I'm immortal.
Bob:  Okay, he is pretty suave.

Pippin:  Very suave indeed.  And trying for a baby already!

Eliza:  I'm pregnant!
Bella:  Me too!

Mortimer:  We're having a baby?!?!?
Bella:  Yes.  "We" are.
Mortimer:  Funny, I don't remember that we've woohooed since moving here...
Pippin:  And both ladies are just about to hit the second trimester as we run out of time on the week.

Bella:  Pregnant, but still looking good!
Cassandra:  Yeah you are, mom!
Kourtney:  ...uhn...

So, with one week finished, Boris has sadly ended up back to only level 2 of the criminal career, but he has mastered vampire lore and already has a garden with garlic, wolfsbane, and the sixam mosquito trap

Oh, my word! Such drama! I'm on the edge of my seat with a mouth full of popcorn! Boris, you scalawag! And poor Bob!

Excellent use of Alexander. Perfect! Boris is truly a mastermind.

Tough luck on the career! Yikes! Oh, well. He's made great strides on his aspirations so he'll definitely have more time to focus on getting promoted.

Good luck with the baby mamas!

I was so shocked that Boris passed on the redhaired vampire Kaitlin but then...but then....
Of course, I had forgotten that Eliza is also a redhead.
Boris, you dawg you! You not only off Bob and marry Eliza but also get Bella pregnant?

Awww, that's too bad about the wishing well! I've PMed you about that.
Since the founders don't need to complete a unique aspiration, Boris only needs to complete his vampire aspiration.
So he doesn't need to reach Level X in the Criminal career to complete his requirements as heir, I believe.

I agree with Francesca about your excellent use of Alexander. I'll be curious to see if Boris will be turning any of his roomies.
And I'm so glad your week with Boris isn't over because I want to see the nooboos!

Re-Vamped Bloodlines, A Rivalry Dynasty--Bad News
« Reply #21 on: March 14, 2017, 09:20:06 PM »
Well, as most of you know, I've really earned the title of "Most Tenacious Simmer" given to me by Magpie in honor of my many failed attempts and restarts in dynasties.  Well, I'm earning it again.  I bought connections for Sam and Boris.  Can't buy satisfaction awards for vampires.  Also, I neglected to make Eliza and Bella vampires before Boris had babies with them.  Ugh!
Fear not, I shall relaunch another rivalry dynasty attempt soon.

Awwww, Pippin! I'm sorry about Re-Vamped Bloodlines! There are so many rules to wrap our heads around!

And come to think about it, my first attempt failed even before I aged up the heir's twin brother early.
I'd wanted to see Caleb/Bella's baby so I sent him over to try for baby--Bella wasn't a vampire at the time, either. I only realized this when you mentioned Bella. o.O

No shame in failing and restarting! I'm super happy to hear that you'll give this challenge another go!
I'm a huge fan of your wit, your fashion choices, and your forum presence in general.

Whenever I arrive at the forum to find that you've updated, I know it's going to be a good day!
Best wishes with your restart!

@Pippin, Sorry about your vonCarloffs. Incidentally, @oshizu gave you some misinformation. Boris would have to max some career before his child could move out. That's true for all the founders in all three lines.

Thanks, everyone.  It's the positivity and encouragement that makes me keep coming back with positive energy for each new go-round with dynasties.  I've already created the new founders, so I'll have a new dynasty soon.

Meantime, guess we can drive a stake into this one.  It's done.
