Sorry folks but I'm forced to jump servers again. Logic compels me to. Our host has a sale and we can now get a faster machine for the same price. We're not capping the one we have by any means, but due to the contract I'm in with the host, they can not give me the new rate they offer for a Quad core. They're forcing me to upgrade to take advantage of new prices, and that's the only way they'll let me out of the contract.

I'll do this in the late hours of the night to make the impact on you all minimal. Sorry, night owls!

Total downtime should be less than six hours total. I'll be backing up all our forum data, so no worries.

Just to be concrete on the timing here, this will all take place late tomorrow night. They are probably bogged down with all the new contracts being made and I don't think I'd have time to complete it. This is one of those things you kinda have to do in a single session

I got access to the new server already and have moved almost all of my sites. With only about 200mb left to go, and a really smooth ride so far, I'll probably put the forum in maintenance mode tonight at midnight, back up the database and throw the switch. I suspect we'll end up down less than an hour, fully functional within 2.

Because of the time difference I usually go here while it's night at your timezone Got a bit scared when couldn't get to the forum, but since I've had a site and a forum of my own some time ago then I didn't panic...
