I don't exactly wish to have snow all the time, just a more temperate climate so that I don't end up all sweaty just walking to the bus stop to get to school lol.

Anyway I realised that I have not introduced myself (: I'm a 20-going-on-21 undergrad majoring in Economics and Japanese Studies. I've lived in the sunny island of Singapore all my life and take both English and Mandarin as my first language.  I usually play mmorpgs so sims was a little different when I first tried it. My secret little wish is for sims to be an mno too so that I can play with my friends in the same town. Right now I hope to complete my dynasty and take part in all the challenges. (:

Yeah I know what you mean -- like when you step outside and you instantly begin to sweat without even moving. Haha
That would be kind of cool to be able to play sims with your friends :P

Hello! I joined this forum only a few minutes ago and thought I'd say howdy.

I've been playing Sims 3 for about a month only, but I'm hopelessly hooked. Currently, I'm playing a homeless guitarist whose sole income is from tips. It's actually working out quite nicely; though, there's no hope of getting rich quick. She sleeps in a tent on the roof of the fitness center, uses facilities there, and exists entirely from fruit purchased at the store. It has been challenging and is thus all the more fun. Soon, I will begin throwing parties at the amphitheater and that should boost my income.

Anyway, thank you Carl and Pam for a terrific site. I think I've read through all of Carl's walk-throughs and guides and now I'm delving into the forum more deeply.

Welcome MaryMarsh!
Good luck with your homeless guitarist. I have yet to venture out into the musician world with my sim. I hope you find some valuable information here :D

Official welcome to RJ and a big welcome to MaryMarsh!

@ RJ: For my first university degree I minored in economics - it's so fascinating learning how the markets work and just how much a little bit more/less here affects everything over there! Good luck with your studies.

Hi. I have only just joined though I have wandered in here a few times. I first came here in search of Carl's wonderful playing guides - the nectar-making specifically - so thank you for that.

I have been playing Sims since around October 2007. I started with a borrowed copy of Sims 2 from my daughter and was soon hooked. I was also soon digging into my wallet to buy every EP and SP available to say nothing of upgrading my computer and eventually replacing it.  I bought Sims 3 soon after it was released and the love affair continued.

I now play on a Mac though my PC is there as a backup.

My playing style is pretty boring. I am still playing with the same sim couple I created back when I first entered Sims 3. They never really age though once or twice they have found the fountain of youth and become teenagers - just so they can meet and marry all over again. They have had countless children which often get abandoned with old save games while the parents get to do it all again in a new town. At the present time, they have hung onto their current batch of children through a few towns and I have become rather fond of them all. I think they might stick around with the parents for quite a few more sim-years.  I do have other sims in my towns but mostly they are just backdrop. My sim pair have just about maxed every skill several times over but there is always more to learn. At the moment it is nectar making and I am enjoying that immensely.

Welcome to the forum Figwit and Marymarsh.  I know what you mean about the sims.  I have played this game since day one.  I don't even want to add up how much all games, EP and Stuff packs would cost.  I don't think I have missed getting any of them, lol.  My sister is the same way too.  Hope you have great stay here and find everything you are looking for. :)

I've used Carl's guides on the internet for a few years now and just decided to sign up to use the forum for some help.  Older special education teacher here who has played ALL the sims games since they started.  It is funny that I just ran into a problem I can't fix playing on the expansion pack.  Unsure where else to post this this am in Oklahoma.  My sim just took a photo of her client while working on a design assignment ....now the whole screen will not not stop revolving everywhere my sim goes.  It's like her environment in in a continual 360 spin.  I've NEVER encountered this before.  She was using a camera she got at the consignment store. I'm going to save and exit my game and then go back in.  Maybe an unknown bug I'm not aware of.  I got the expansion pack for Christmas and haven't had too much time to play as school has started back.  Thanks to Carl for all his guides and help on here over the years too.

Hi everyone!  ;D I have been playing sims for quite a while now - first Sims 1, then Sims 2, and now Sims 3.  I fell in love with Sims 3 as soon as I experienced the open neighborhoods, and I was hooked.  This seems like a great forum, and I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and possibly doing some of the challenges on here, which is something I've never done.

I usually play only one way - lots and lots of babies!  I just love to see the way the genetics are expressed and I think the toddlers are especially adorable.

Hi Figwit and jillnok!  I know Figwit from other forums too, she's a good sim buddy!   :D

Welcome Simmerqueen!

If you're interested in the challenges check out the General Rules and PM Metro! The first challenge has started but there is still plenty of time to get into it. Good luck!

Hi Everyone,

My name is Debbie and I'm new to TS3 but I'm already addicted.  I found this community when I was looking for information and tips on how to play - this is the best resource I have found.  Then I started reading Pam's Immortal Dynasty and found I couldn't stop.  I still have a lot more to read but I can't wait to see how it turns out.  Most of all I was impressed that this seems to be a more mature community - not so much in terms of age but in terms of content.

A little about me...I'm 47, happily married (on 9/9/09) to my best friend.  We don't have any children but we have 2 big dogs, 3 cats, and 11 chickens.  We live south of Boston, MA.  I have played a couple of Sims games on my Nintendo DS many years ago and really enjoyed them but never got into the PC version until 2 weeks ago when I bought and downloaded TS3.

At the moment I have 2 families going.  The first started by Willow Logan, a small town girl who is finding fame and fortune in Bridgeport as a stylist.  There she befriended Morrigan Hemlock and asked to be turned.  Life as a vampire has been great so far - she met, fell in love with, married and turned Matthew Hamming.  She is focusing on her career before she and Matthew start a family.  In the meantime I am building their dream house and they are working to earn the money to buy it.

My other Sim is Jewel Cartier, a recent (as in last night) arrival to SV.  She is the founder of my legacy family - 'The Family Jewels'.  I plan to follow her and her chosen heirs for 10 generations.  I'm thinking this will be a matriarchal legacy (for no other reason than I think it's more fun to dress up girl Sims) and I'm planning on naming her descendants after gemstones.  So far she has bought her large plot of land and is temporarily living in the firehouse until she can save up some money or snag a husband.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to getting to know you and hopefully sharing some of Jewel's adventures.

Hello Debbie and wellcome to the forum! Congratulations with your first families it looks like you've planned everything for their future. Not like me, lol. I mostly abandon the family after the second generation because I get some new ideas.
