Had I not decided to defy the societal expectation to seek the knowledge and wisdom of higher academia and instead choose for myself a life of liberty and independence - or had I not dropped out of university and become a bum - it wouldn't be a problem.  However, I have bills to pay and I can't expect my parents to keep me forever.  How I long for the days where I didn't question where my next meal was coming from and my diet consisted of something more than fish finger sandwiches and soup.  :P

Congratulations on the addition, PlatnumDymnd!  I'm outnumbered by friends with children.  I have recommended The Sims as an alternative pastime but it seems they are otherwise preoccupied.  Good luck with the search, though!

Hello all!

My name is Mande, I have been lurking on this site and forum for a while now and finally joined.  It's sort of strange but in real life I am very outgoing but I tend to be rather shy while on the internet.  I love this site and how friendly everyone is so I figured it was time to stop being so shy.  I feel like I have a pretty good way with the English language, however it is my 3rd language so if I make any grammar mistakes please bear with me, also feel free to point out to me what I did wrong and tell me the correction. That way I can learn more, the grammar and structure of English is still confusing at times!  ???

Now that I have properly introduced myself, I am off for some more simming!  ;D

Welcome to the forum Mande! There are plenty of other members of the forum that don't speak English as their first language.

Hullo. I'm Sybilla, but you can call me Syb if you want to. I'm 15, but I've been simming since TS1, and I had all the EPs!
I've been lurking here for a while (I know I sound creepy), and I finally decided to join. I don't remember where I found this site, but I'm really happy I did. Thanks Carl and Pam, and all the other contributors!

Oh, and one last thing- I have Aspergers syndrome, so please disregard me if I say something a little odd.

Greetings Mande and Syb, I'm Snuzi!  :)  And many thanks to those who have taken their time to welcome me.  Forgive me for disappearing off the face of the Earth for a couple of days - technology has had me jumping through hoops so I took some time out for the sake of my sanity.  I'm back!  It's nice to meet you mtglady, Sophie4563, Schipperke and Swede1992.

Whenever I look at this thread and welcome new people a day later I have missed about Four! I think this could be one of the busiest threads!  ;D

But here are my welcomes!

Newbies! A warm welcome to all the new people I haven't see before. Of course I welcome you whenever I encounter you, but still this is the best and appropiate place to do it.

How many people do we have here already?

We have 2,490 registered members.
Although, we have 2,490 registered, under the members tab at the top of the page, we have less than 11 pages worth of participants to the forum... so sad :-\ But that is okay because we still have so many helpful and nice members of the forum!

The majority of members don't post.  It can be very intimidating for a lot of people to post on a public forum, so they just watch.  There's also a good deal of spam accounts.

I'm Sara, 24, from the Netherlands. Born with CP (cerebral palsy) which means I use a wheelchair. Having a father who is a lot into science-fiction and a mother who always taught me to use my fantasy and creativity, I quite early got my hands on a computer to start gaming and drawing on! I played the Sims a long time ago, skipped Sims 2 and got back into Sims 3 since it launched. Besides gaming, I also do a lot of 2d and 3d artwork, both hand-drawn and by using computer graphics. I might show some of my 3d art here later on, probably remodelling some of the Sims I encounter.

I play the Sims 3 without mods, only downloading content from the EA store, keeping it pure. All those skins, mods and changes just don't maintain the appearance which the Sims 3 made me fall in love with. I'm glad to see this forum does not focus on mods, a nice change, from most of the other Sims forums.

Typically, I play the game without aging, liking to stick around with the Sims I get to know. I do however love how the story forwards and how subtle changes over time make a very different world.

See you around the forum!
