Well hi my name is Belle and contrary to what you all might think I am a boy. I will not answer questions about my name but it is nice to meet you all if that is the correct way to say it.

Look at the forum home page and you'll see section descriptions to guide you on where the best place to post your question is.

Hello! My name is Melissa. I just turned 20 and I also live in Vancouver, BC. I started reading the Guide and Forum a month or two ago so I thought it was about time to join. I've been playing for 9 or 10 years now. In Sims 1 and 2 I mostly enjoyed building but I'm starting to really enjoy actually playing Sims 3 and the Guide has been really helpful with hints for playing successfully.

Hello everyone!  :)  My name is Laura, and Sims 3 is the first Sims game I've played.  I love it!  I've been playing for about 4 months now, and have a happy thriving Sims family.

I discovered this site not long ago, and it has been extremely helpful in getting started.  Sincere thanks to Carl and the many other contributors for making this site so awesome.

I have never joined a forum before, so am new to all of this.  Since I am also technologically challenged, expect me to be asking a few dumb questions now and then, lol.

So, my first question is:
Is there one or more article, thread or link that can teach me how to move some of my sims out of the first home, and start multiple homes in the same game?  My Sims' house is bursting at the seams with eight people, three generations.

The triplets are ready to marry and begin families of their own.  We're all getting desperate:  sometimes one or more Sim doesn't eat when they get tired of waiting their turn at the refrigerator in the morning, which is a bad way to start the day for anyone.

I also saw a vague reference in a thread that suggested that when a Sim moves out, he or she doesn't get to take what they have in their personal inventory.  Will it automatically get added to the original home inventory, or would it be completely lost forever if I don't specifically remove it first?  They each individually have loads of deathfish and bags of money worth upwards of 200k or more each.

Any help is sincerely appreciated!

Hi SonomaSim aka Laura!  Welcome to the best Sims 3 forum around.

In order to keep the forum neat and tidy and to help players find answers to questions, I am going to demonstrate where to put your questions and I would be happy to help you out if I can in answering them as well.

Question 1.  There is a search feature on the main forum page just for finding other threads that might just have the information you are looking for.  I am going to search "how to move sims out of my home".  Here is the link for you to peruse and maybe even will answer your question before you have to re-post it, http://www.carls-sims-3-forum.com/index.php/topic,505.0.html .  Check it out and if you don't find the answer to your question, just post the question in that thread and someone will come along pretty quick and answer it for you.

Question 2.  Refer to same link as above.

Question 3.  Let me search and get back to you on that one.

Good luck and once again, welcome to the forum!

Edit:  I can't find anything on Question 3.  I know many players have said something about it in many of the threads, just not sure which ones.

Welcome to the Forum!  ;D

I have an answer to that, if a Sim moves out of the Active Household then they leave their Inventory behind and it is transferred to an existing family member, the one thing I have had that went missing with them was a Moodlet Manager. I have not tried it with Harvestables or Collectables but I think they would be transferred.  ;)

Hey all ^_^

I've been reading carl's help site alot and thought I may as well finally join the forums as well to get to know you crazy bunch of fanatics more ^^.  I've been playing the Sims 3 alot lately, got all the expansions with exception of the Hi-Tech stuff pack and can't wait for the new one.

Although I love to play The Sims, I find I'm completely useless at building and decorating houses.  No matter how I try, they never look how I intend them to although the one my Main sim is currently living in I'm quite proud of.
