Hello, everyone! I'm Candiss - denizen of the Pacific NW, Bookworm, Loner, Perfectionist, Perceptive, Frugal* - and I've been playing The Sims series since the original game. (Well, if you count the SimCity games, I suppose I've been playing even longer than that!) I go by Tantara29 on the official forum, because Tantara was taken, but I only lurk there. That place is a bit chaotic for my tastes.
Speaking of lurking - I've been lurking here at Carl and Pam's The Sims 3 Forum (and using the main site for all it's worth) for a couple of years now, but until recently I've been content to simply watch from the sidelines. Lately I've been getting into playing my first Immortal Dynasty, and I've been really enjoying reading along with the Dynasty stories posted here and pouring over the completed Dynasties, so I've decided it's time for me to formalize my notes into my own Dynasty story and get to posting! Introducing myself first seemed the polite way to proceed, so here I am.
As for my Simming habits, I do not normally play Dynasties or Legacies, as I usually play with aging off and don't tend to do much with children and families. I focus more on single sims and/or accomplishing various game goals I set for myself to keep myself interested. I've started a couple of Dynasty/Legacy files in the past and couldn't keep my interest past a generation or two, but this time I suppose all the variables have lined up just right, because I'm on Generation 3 and am still very engaged. I think the unique structure of the ID challenge is the key for me. It forces me out of my usual play style in unusual ways.
I'll try to get my Immortal Dynasty thread up and running in a few days. I have limited play time this week, but perhaps this weekend I'll have something to share.
(*I'm an Animal Lover, too, but as I still don't have the Pets expansion, I stick with relevant traits I can actually give to my simself.
)
Edit: I omitted a punctuation mark. See? Perfectionist. (Some might even say Neurotic.) *sigh*
