Sul Sul my Simin Friends

I'm Tarah! I've been playing the sims for like 20 years now.. sadly (LOL JK)
and i just made a forum account so I can actually talk to other fellow simmers without someone reporting me for asking the "wrong question"

My Origin Account is TarahAshulee

I used to go by Leanteamqueen if any of you have ever seen me around before.

Honestly Ii've never ever been super big into forums, but carl's guides online are my go to usually when i find something new about a xpan or patch that I didn't know before.

I am a registered nurse IRL and I'm from San Francisco Baby

I'm definitely new to the hole forum thing but if anyone ever has a question or a better answer than i do reach out!

I like to meet new Peeps :)

Anywho, take care everyone and feel free to add! i add back hehe!

xoxo t

Hi, I'm Roxi and I'm a long time viewer of the guides, but only just now got on the forums. I started with Sims 2 when I was a kid and started Sims about 2 years ago, and it's honestly the best community. Now I still play both, but I just mostly build on the Sims 4.

Hello  :)

I'm new here. My Sims euphoria started with Sims 2, where of course I had almost all the expansion packs. I left out Sims 3 because I was skeptical. But I accessed Sims 4 again, which I've been playing for a few years now.

When I play Sims, my favorite thing to do is create houses and lots.

I am looking forward to exchanging ideas with you. ;)

hi All,

My name is Katrina. My kids got me into The Sims about 20 years ago. It took 3 minutes to get me hooked. I joined Carl's mainly because I saw some questions folks had about owning vacation/2nd homes in Sims 4. I have figured out how to do it without mods.

YOU CAN own a vacation house IN ANY WORLD in Sims 4, here's how you do it:

Find the house or lot you want for your vacation home. Go into it via Build Mode. In the top left (info panel) change the property to Retail. All you need on a retail property is one cash register. Buy one and place it on a counter. I hide my cash register by hitting the [ key to make it smaller. Then, with Ctrl-Shift-C I type testingcheats on, in the bar. Then I place another object over the tiny cash register so I don't have to see it.

After that, I go to the Sim family who wants a vacation home, they buy a retail place and NEVER OPEN it. They can go there any time. Friends and family can go with them or be called to visit.

One thing I have noticed is the stereos I have put in my vacation houses can only be designated to be put up for sale. If you want music for your Sims, you should put in the retail speaker(s) where you want.

If you need a non-cheating way to earn lots of Simoleons, without having a job, to buy the vacation home, place an Attic Stack Box next to a doorway so your Sim is standing in the doorway to Rummage for decorations. Have your Sim(s) Rummage until the floor is covered with decor. Then, go into Build Mode and sell all of it. There will be decorations in your Build Mode inventory, and you can sell them, too. Keep doing this until you have whatever amount of money you want.

  Happy Simming!

  I am, therefore I Sim.
Happy Simming!

After many years of Simming, and using Carl's (and Pam's) Sims to get more out of my game play, I decided to create a login.

I've been playing from the very beginning of The Sims. I purchased the game in September 2000 for a 10-year-old young man, for whom I had provided child care. We sat down and played together for the first time, and then I went right out and bought myself a game. I was a beta tester on The Sims Online until it went away, and I've been independently Simming ever since.

I still have all of my The Sims 3, but only currently play Sims 4. There's still a lot about the game that I haven't realized, and I may or may not. I don't play nearly as much as I used to. I have not yet had a friend on the official Sims forum, and may never. But I'm here now, play sometimes. I tell my husband it's my 'fidget spinner' and he largely leaves me alone. He stopped asking me "are you winning", but only after threat of bodily harm.

Welcome, @Nan Roberts! I laughed when you said your husband asked if you were winning. Mine still asks if I've fried any Sims lately because when I first started playing, I lost a couple to fire.

Hello everyone,

I’ve just joined this forum. My name is Warren Woodhouse, I have Autism and I’ve been playing on The Sims since SimCity (which is the first Sims game, incase anyone is wondering).

I have more than 25 years experience in video gaming and in my spare time I play on the guitar and take photos with my Nikon D3300.

Is there a Sims 4 Base Game sub-forum on this forum, by any chance? I would like to ask a question regarding story progression and what story missions that The Sims 4 has in its base game. I’m pretty sure that “Welcome Wagon” counts as it does introduce you to everyone in the neighbourhood during your first time playing the game or entering a new neighbourhood for the first time.

Anyways, any information regarding the story missions in the game is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

@warrenwoodhouse welcome aboard, you're probably not alone in being an autistic simmer, and we can answer base game questions just fine on the Gameplay Questions board. EPs and GPs have their own boards so it's semi-contained and all.

@Trip Cheers. Ok I’ll definitely check out the Gameplay Board. Anyways, I submitted loads of cool lots during the Golden Age challenge recently, one of my designs was a residential lot in the shape of a Coca-Cola Can!!  :) Recently I uploaded a residential lot called Modern Eco Manor using the features from Desert Bloom such as the fishing pond and the original buildings. Added new buildings on the lot to make it into a stylish urban industrial conversion. I think it’s pretty cool.

@warrenwoodhouse a warm welcome to the forum. Well, you touched a special place in my heart, given my oldest daughter is on the spectrum. She played Sims 1 for a couple of years when she was younger and has since moved on to other games like Zelda and Mario Galaxy. She loves console stuff.

@Metropolis Man I’m glad I made someone feel happy. :D I actually enjoy reading this guide as it has helped a lot. I’ve not played on The Sims 3 but I have played on SimCity (PC), The Sims: Triple Deluxe Edition (PC), SimCity 3000: UK Edition (PC), The Sims (PS2), The Urbz: Sims In The City (PS2) (my favourite Sims title), The Sims: Bustin’ Out (PS2), The Sims 2 (Wii), The Sims 2: Pets (Wii), The Sims 2: Castaway (Wii), SimCity Creator (Wii), The Sims 4 (PS4), SimCity BuildIt (iPhone), The Sims Mobile (iPhone).

I do play on other games but I still keep getting drawn back into the world of The Sims. I’ve introduced my sisters to the series as well.
