Already posted in another thread and then came across this one and figured why not?
I got into Sims2 last summer and quickly became obsessed over it. Bought all EP and SP's and really love it. I wasn't sure whether I was going to buy Sims3 or not since I was still so new to Sims2. Then Best Buy had it on sale, plus I had a $5 off coupon so I grabbed it. Boy am I glad I did! I am loving Sims3. Granted, it took reading a legacy someone had done in 3 for me to realize what I was missing out on. I am really enjoying it and love the story progression feature. Thinking of picking up WA next paycheck.

Somehow or other, I came across the Bloom'n Insane Legacy Challenge (http://bloomisbi.wordpress.com/) and it seemed a lot of fun (versus the usual regular legacy challenges) and am attempting it now. I've just begun, so nothing to really report on it. I hadn't thought of posting a story but I might do something to report progress.

I'm probably one of the older Sim fans around. However I am young at heart and this is one of only two forums I have felt comfortable actually posting at. Looking forward to sharing my love of the game!

Thanks,
Kerry

Welcome Kerry!  We have a pretty good sized group of older players, so you're not alone.  We have a lot of younger players, too, there's a good mix.  And just to remove any question as to what is considered "older" players, I'm 50.  :D

Thanks everyone! And Pam - whew! We're in the same age range ;)

I did read the forum rules and hope this doesn't violate them - the one liner and a smiley. lol! Can I assume these types of threads (off topic) are a little less lax?

At least that is one thing we all have in common, loving the sims. I am in that age group also and have played sims since day one.  I have still not uninstalled sims2 yet, can't quite bring myself to so. lol

Saltypaws- I haven't uninstalled Sims2 either and probably never will. Well, not intentionally. I had a legacy going in 2 and there was just so many glitches that I got fed up and decided to finally install Sims3 and go from there, (either CC related or neighborhoos related - not sure which yet). I am so fascinated with S3 I can't stop long enough to even think about S2 at the moment :)

Unfortunately I can't yet either. I still love a few things about the Sims 2, but I just can't quite deal with how many things I didn't like. I really enjoyed one of my Sims 2 Families, it was a perfect family but there were far too many glitches standing in my way (like how my new adult sim had been still in love with her teenage sweetheart who would not age up unless I went into his house and played it out until he aged up... *that always took forever!*). So I do only play Sims 3, but can't fully uninstall Sims 2 either... it's so hard!

Welcome Kerry.  I know what you mean, I keep saying I will play it someday, but never do.  I love sims3 and usually throw myself into it when I play.  I don't even hear the phone ring, lol.

How to begin? How to begin?
Well I guess about myself if a good place. I am a 25 year old wife and mother to six children. :o Hence the name mom of many. I am from Northwest Indiana so the Chicago land area for though who are not from around here. I love to be on the computer and read and play games (any kind of games computer or board). I also like to scrapbook and cross stitch. But don't do much of that anymore. Now mostly surf the web, play Sims, and read. Not to mention take care of the kids which goes without saying. I hate housework though!
Now Sims history. I have played Sims 1 but don't remember it much as it is been a long time and don't know which expansions we had either (me and my sister). Then my sister bought Sims 2 and I borrowed them from her and played but not with all expansions she didn't have them all so I had a list of the ones I wanted but never got. Then I borrowed her Sims 3 and loved it and lucky for me we got our tax money in so I was able to splurge and got it with the expansion and high end loft. Now I play most everyday when and if I can!
That's all I can think of but if there is anything that I left out or that you would like to know just ask!

Welcome to the forum momofmany! I can hardly cope with six kids in sims, when I have kids I think Three would be my max!
