Hello  my name is PassionPlay and I am brand new to sims 3. The only other game I have played is the sims social on facebook which lead me to believe that I would love the sims3. I was wrong...well not completely.I actually really like this game. I am just finding it difficult to play w/o a manual I am playing sim 3 on a mac. I downloaded the game from amazon. I have no manual and have been relaying on whatever info I can locate online. Thank you Carl and Pam and everyone here. I am having a really tough time getting this game. I want to build my sim a home but have had the lot for a few days and I am lost lol. I wanted to download a home, since building one is totally freaking me out lol. If anyone has any thing they can tell me that may help.Feel free to let me know! Happy gaming everyone<3

Welcome Passionplay! For building tips I recommend you check this article in the guide and our building board for tips. If you want to look for a house to download, check our Swap Shopfor all kind of houses to download, and submissions for Building contest that has themed buildings in price range.

Welcome Sita!

Welcome, PassionPlay and Sita!

PassionPlay, You don't have to build a house right away, or even download one. If your Sim has $12,000 to $15,000, you can move to a house that has already been built. Go to your cell phone (in your inventory), click on it, and click on "move." The Map View screen will come up, showing all the unoccupied houses. You can move into any of the blue houses (the gray ones are too expensive, and it can be hard to tell the blue from gray).

At the beginning of the game, after you create a Sim, you are given the option to move into a house. If you click on "unfurnished," you'll get a house that has kitchen and bathroom appliances, but nothing else.

Hello everyone!
My name is Adam. I'm not new to the boards, but only just signed up. I have been playing and reading for some time, so much to learn after all, but I am just starting to put together something of a mammoth task for myself and I thought it best to have every resource available. Selfish of me I know. However, that being said I am more than happy to help out as much as I can, so I will probably stick my nose in anywhere.
I am in the planning stages of creating a world. I'm an architect so I tend not to do things on a small scale. This coupled with the fact I am a huge nerd makes for me, admittedly, going way over board with things like this.
I am yet to settle on the name for my new world, but have made up a simple back story to assist with the lay out of the whole island. I am also making plans on playing a single family, beginning with one Sim, to slowly advance in a huge multi generational story.
As I said above I am an architect and so my mind fits perfectly with Sims. This can be something of a down fall for me as I can not play a "simple" game. I always have to redesign, evolve, advance the world. I guess this is why I am starting a project like building a whole world from scratch including all the buildings, landscaping and inhabitants!

I am aware I am insane.

Other than that, there is not much to tell, really. Feel free to say hi or drop me a line any time. I'd love to get to know people to pick their minds for ideas, tricks or even coerce into building a lot or two for some diversity ;)

Hope to get to know many of you,
A

Welcome to our Forum, Adam.

I removed your email address from your post for your own protection.  We don't publish private email addresses here because it's too easy for someone to take advantage of it.  You're welcome to use our private message system, however.

I hope you'll check our Building and Challenge boards.  We have building contests and two Dynasty challenges that span over many generations of a family.

Good luck to you.  :)

Adam:

You would hardly have to coerce someone to help you out with your project on this forum. I for one would be glad to help out!

Drop me a PM if you want. I would love to be involved in creating a new world. I would have made one myself If I wasn't so daunted at the enormity of the task.

Oh and I almost forgot, Welcome!

Hello Adam, welcome to the forum!

You can check out the Create a World board to discuss stuff like your World Project. I'm probably going to start making a new world myself soon. It's been a while.
