Ahaha, thank you for the welcomes!

Actually I'm pretty set on Ambitions. I really want to have a firefighting sim so I can just set things on fire. :O

And because I'm a ridiculously eager beaver, I'm going to go shove up my legacy + pictures now... :x

Hello there, Katielo and Jaks!  Glad you're both here.

Jaks, I'm just base-game, too.  One of the EPs wrecked my computer and I had an awful time trying to get it uninstalled and getting my PC back into a useable state.  I must say, even just the base-game, with no enhancements, CC or EPs/SPs is still bundles of fun!  I'd *love* to kick it up a notch, but I'm wary about re-wrecking my PC.  I'm sure you'll have better luck than I did -- it seems most people do just fine with the added content.  In the meantime, enjoy the base-game!

Hi everyone.

I am new here and new to Sims 3 in general, I played Sims 2 a little bit but never really finished a game if that makes sense, I always seemed to get bored  :-[

I'd heard from a few of my friends that Sims 3 wasn't as good as Sims 2, but last week I took the plunge and bought the game and totally fell in love with it.

I have the base game and am waiting for generations to come which I ordered on Saturday, I think I am going to purchase all the stuff packs and expansion packs soon as well (I can't wait for pets to come out)

I always seem to make it hard for myself by making one sim then she has a million kids and i'm finding it hard to fulfill all of their wishes so i am thinking I might start again when generations comes with just one sim and if she has kids limit her to one as I would like to actual complete a game lol.

I have a question, I have been reading the dynasties and legacy board (and I am thoroughly enjoying it) can someone tell me what the difference is in these two things?

I'm looking forward to talking to you all xx

Hi and welcome to the forums, Kindofagirl! I am glad you are enjoying The Sims 3. Generations is great, believe me, you'll enjoy it.

Oh, dynasties and legacies. Well, those are challenges written for Sims 3 players. A dynasty is a save file for the Immortal Dynasty Challenge, written by our Metropolis Man here, a legacy is a save file for the Legacy Challenge, written by Pinstar, on the official forums.

The main goal in a dynasty is to obtain a family of eight generations of immortals living under one roof. There are a lot of rules, including many requirements in order to become truly immortal.

The main goal in a legacy is to have a multi (10) generational family, and explore the game in depth with it. Your legacy family is a household that you'll have to stick with for a year or more, so be sure to enjoy them. Some players, like me, get bored of legacies pretty quickly and start a new one. I do hope my current attempt succeeds, lol.

Best of luck with your dynasty/legacy, if you do one of course.

Of course, that's only the Immortal Dynasty. :P

Also, kindofagirl, welcome to the forums. I also PM'd you with this information, as I had wanted to post it, but I couldn't due to my browser randomly acting up (as I mentioned in the PM)

Thanks for your replies. I shall read through the rules but I think it might be a little too advanced for me just yet.

I think I am going to move my current family out and start again with one sim and limit the sim to one child, I'm having trouble dealing with 6 lol

Welcome, Kindofagirl! I have 8 sims in one household and am barely managing. Really regretting making Lori's Lifetime Wish the 'Surrounded By Family' one, haha. I am also looking forward to your legacy/dynasty if you do one. You probably will, haha. It's easy to get sucked into it as everyone else is doing them! It's fun, though and I'm sure you'll enjoy the forum, too. :)

Welcome, kindofagirl!  I thought I'd never quit playing Sims 2, and I guess I could always go back, but I don't want to now that I see what Sims 3 has to offer.  Enjoy the forum!  :)
