Thanks Esther!
And I'm sure I'll soon be glued to The Sims instead of revising for my upcoming exams, judging by the level of addict-ness here! :D
But is that a bad thing?
You're welcome! No, it's not a bad thing!  ;D Everyone here is addicted to the game!  :D

Welcome Sophie! I've been playing some form of The Sims for half of my lifetime, so just give the addiction some time to hit you too!  :D

Hi and welcome to the forums, Sophie. :)
To be honest, I used to watch the forums since January 2010, but wasn't brave enough to register. I registered finally only this January. And ended up with more than 3,000 posts. :P As well as became a total addict, considering I was a causal player back then. Lol.

Hi there, Sophie!  I'm glad you're enjoying your Simming and glad you decided to join these forums!

Oh, and please make time to study for exams (sorry, the Mom, or should I say "Mum", in me comes out every now and then).

No. I was glued to the Sims during my "revision", and I aced the vast majority of my exams.
EDIT: How rude of me! I forgot to welcome you! Welcome to the forum Sophie!

Thanks everyone,
I'd like to reply to you all personally but I'm doing this on my iPod right now because it's about 6:45 in the morning where I live. I've made time to study for exams, don't worry. It's just the science that worries me.

Sophie :)

Welcome Sophie! I too was looking for a forum for TS3. I have been playing Sims since the beginning game came out years and years ago. Yes I'm that old. (Now is that bad?) And don't worry about talking like you know us personally. I think I can speak for us all in saying we are Simfams here. I know I have been sent to the corner a few times by 'momma' Pam. Hehehe  ;D

Seems like we have another student with exams going on, people. Let's take a moment promote good education: Sophie you get into those books and study hard. Ok moment is done. I had to actually hide my game from myself during exam week when I was in college. LOL. Anyway, welcome to the forums.

@Chronic, I didn't know you were a recent addition to the forums. I just assumed you have been here for ever. Obviously I don't know how these stars and status things work. Nor do I check profiles.  :-[

Lol. I have been a member since only January 31, 2011, but actually I found the forums after December 2009. ;D

@Chronic, I didn't know you were a recent addition to the forums. I just assumed you have been here for ever. Obviously I don't know how these stars and status things work. Nor do I check profiles.  :-[

It's really simple.  You start with 1 star.  Every "Newbie", who has below 50 posts, has 1 star.  For every rank you go up in, you gain another star.  Moderators have their stars changed, so instead of, say, the amount of Stars I have, they have special 5-stars that change colour.  They always change.  If you look at Pam's posts in Baby Boomers III, then compare that to an update in The Dreamweaver dynasty, you'll see what I mean.
Now, the ranks are different.
0 - 49 posts makes you a Newbie.
50 - 99 posts is a Jr. Member.
100 - 249 posts is a Full Member.
250 - 499 posts is a Sr. Member.
500 - 999 posts is a Hero Member.
1000+ posts is a Legendary Member.

I have no idea if there are any more ranks, due to the highest number of posts being Pam's, with over 8000 posts.  Once she hits 10,000, we'll find out.  As I'd expect 10,000 posts to have a new rank.

And Chronic's not the only new Legendary Member - I joined in late March.

Wow. Thanks for sharing that Seabody. Do you know I never pay attention to the symbols over by my name? I didn't even notice I had one star until you just explained that stuff to me. I feel so special now.  :D

Really March? Where do you find the time to even play? I'm getting tired and I haven't even started the game. I just finished installing everything. I'm registering them online. I have to get up for work in like 2hours so day two has gone by since I got Generations and I cannot enjoy it. I might as well just wait till the weekend.  :-\

Yes - really March. See my profile if you don't believe me. ;D
Sometimes I can't play. Most Weeknights, for example. Today's an exception - no school tomorrow! So naturally, when I can't play, I'm right here.

Looks like I'm going to have to be on here a LOT if I'm ever going to get beyond, hmm, 20 posts? The time goes so quickly. I plan to start a story eventually though. Yes, we should promote learning.
I'm going to revise rig- wait, done that. So time for some simming!

I'm the same way.  I often don't find time to play during the week.  Last night was a nice exception: I got about an hour and a half of playtime in.  Now I have to rush off to work!  The clock starts in 18 minutes.   :D  Why can't I just play Sims and have a bathroom, a bed and an endless supply of Ramen noodles at my disposal with no responsibilities?!
