Oh yeah, It wasn't. My bad.
My dad only let me play sims after I turned 11. >:(
Ok, I'm sorry for how off-topic this is, but really? My dad encouraged me to play TS1 when I was about 3!  :o

*waves* Welcome Dusty, Sierra, and Blazers.

You guys sound like me: simming for a while (since Sims 1) and lurking on the board before you registered. :)

I feel old around you guys. I started playing The Sims back in 2000 and I was 14. Ha!

Just some nostalgia:

Wow first time I ever saw Sims 1. Not what I expected for some reason. And welcome everyone who is new! ( even though I'm still pretty new myself)  ;D

Yup - that's Sims 1. And cheats were basic too - to cheat to max moods, you needed to save and use MoveObjects, or else they'd lose all progress since the last save.
Rotation sucked too - there were four positions. I guess there are infinite positions to place the camera in Sims 3.

It sure has evolved a lot! Quite a difference from Sims to Sims 3.

If you're new to the forum and want to introduce yourself, feel free to do so here!

I stickied this post because I never want it to die. It's a great guestbook for new people who don't have a question in particular but just want to greet us!

Hello.  My daughter and I have just started playing The Sims 3 and also have the Ambitions expansion.  We'll be around, asking for guidance, tips, etc.

Cheers!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Bren. I am Ricalynn's sister and she has recently introduced me to my new love of Sims 3. So far I am still pretty new to the game and getting used to playing multiple sims, etc. She is still laughing at me for not knowing how to change the color of something until recently. I joined the forums initially because she and I spent a lot of time talking about her dynasties,  and I got to help her with the ideas for creating the house for Artie's dynasty. From that point on, I'm pretty sure that I was hooked. I have two of my own games going right now so that I can learn the basics, and Rica was nice enough to create an entire Faire family complete with  an outdoor no-roof house. I am in love with it and finding it easier and easier to control multiple sims all at once. Oh, and I have recently discovered the "pause" button.   :D After reading Pam's and Rica's dynasties, I am getting closer to wanting to create one of my own. I own all of the expansions except World Adventures, mostly because Rica has a tendency to get bugs with it so I am leary. I also do not own the stuff packs yet, but that will come with time.

I used to play Sims 2 on my game cube back in college, but this is my first real interactions with Sims on a computer. As far as I can remember, Rica can feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I am also anxiously awaiting the Generations expansion at the end of this month.

Happy Simming to everyone!

Welcome Bren! Awesome, Rica is very talented! I too can't wait for Generations!! I have WA, but I am extremely careful and try to avoid traveling as much as I can, but I love buydebug which lets me get most of the things without travel.
