Welcome to the forum, Joh!  There are a number of us Canadians here on the forum.  I'm in Saskatoon, where it is -19 and my dogs (schipperkes, of course) probably won't be getting a walk today because of the wind chill.  But I don't mind - I love cold weather because it gives me an excuse to stay in and play Sims!  Again, welcome to the forum, and enjoy your time  here.

Thanks Schipperke, that was a quick reply!

I have a Jack Russell Terrier, also a high energy dog, and an intelligent independent thinker, like Shipperkes.  (As am I, as is my child - yikes!)  My dog has settled down since her sweet 16 last September, and sadly I have to keep her off the stairs as she's getting wobbly.  I live in our lovely National Capital.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean.  People who stereotype dogs as dependent have never lived with a Schip or a Jack!  Good for your girl for making  it to age 16; I hope she'll be around for a long time to come.  My dogs are James, age 6; Mojo (a rescue), age 5; and Martha - also a rescue, age unknown but somewhere around 14-15.  The characters in my Clan Douglas Dynasty (in the Stories) were named for the 8 Schips I've had.

Welcome Joh!
I'm in Saskatoon as well but haven't run into Schip yet! :D
I want to be a dog owner, used to be a dog owner, but when you're renting sometimes there are rules. If I found a miniature German Shepard I would have to make an appointment with the landlords!

PS. Schip's Clan Douglas Dynasty is a good read!

I am a little behind on my welcomes, so I do sincerely hope that all the newcomers enjoy their time here.  I am sure someone will have an answer to any questions you might have. :)

Saltypaws is not the only one behind on the welcomes, seems I am too.  A very warm welcome to all newcomers and to those who have been here awhile checking us out before becoming official  ;).  Happy Simming!

Greetings and Salivations! oh wait it's not lunch time yet :(

My name is Jesse and I am from Michigan but transplanted myself to Florida almost eight years ago.  (NO SNOW Whoooooo!)  I've been a crazy gamer since almost the instant I was introduced to computers back when there was no windows everything was command line driven.  My bread and butter are RPG's but I have loved the sims series for years starting with Sims 1.  I am also a crazy Trekker.

Outside of gaming I love History, gadgets, writing, Sailing (when I get the chance) among other things.  I work as a receptionist, though being a man my bosses kindly came up with the title of Information Facilitator, which actually fits better because my job description grows daily it seems.

Been visiting the guide since I first got the game a little while after WA came out and finally decided to register and join in.

Well enough about me I have to get back to actual work lol.

Welcome to the forum, Musenapper!  It's -24 C where I am today, and I think  a lot of people here are envying you your Florida weather.   :D Enjoy your time on the forum!

Welcome to Musenapper!

My husband has decided to steal your Greetings and Salivations joke. Nice one!

Well, I don't envy you your weather! I'm a northern girl at heart and will take -24C over +24C any day, even if the wind chill makes it feel more like -36C and it's a blizzard, I'd still take it. I'm the girl who spent 20 months in Calgary, Alberta and hated it because it doesn't snow properly down there.  :D

Welcome Musenapper!
I would have to agree with you on the warm weather thing. And I definitely envy the weather you get to enjoy right now! I had to walk around in 20 degree weather today, I was about to die and I live in Alabama! But after living in Thailand for 6 years I got used to the tropical weather all year around. I'm pretty sure no amount of layers could ever help me acclimate to the cold. :P

I live in Florida too and would much rather have it in the 20's once in a while, than below 0 all winter.  With the wind chill factor tonight, inland is suppose to be around 18 to 20 degrees.  Where I am, it probably won't go below 30.  Still chilly for my standards, lol.

Welcome to the forum Musenapper and hope everyone stays warm, wherever they are. :D

Over at where I am it's over 30 degree Celsius everyday and raining every other. Silly South East Asia climate. ): I would love to see some snow!

Believe me, I've lived in Asia before and had summer all year round. Now I'm stuck in the middle of the snow- I'd gladly have summer all the time :P

I don't exactly wish to have snow all the time, just a more temperate climate so that I don't end up all sweaty just walking to the bus stop to get to school lol.

Anyway I realised that I have not introduced myself (: I'm a 20-going-on-21 undergrad majoring in Economics and Japanese Studies. I've lived in the sunny island of Singapore all my life and take both English and Mandarin as my first language.  I usually play mmorpgs so sims was a little different when I first tried it. My secret little wish is for sims to be an mno too so that I can play with my friends in the same town. Right now I hope to complete my dynasty and take part in all the challenges. (:
