Sims crying in bed while sleeping

1 Is it a new things for Sims to cry in bed in their sleep? 

One of my Sim children in my main family cried while she was asleep last night (Sim night.)  I finally woke her up, and she stopped crying.  I didn't want her to be sad.  Then, she went back to bed and was fine.

2 Is it also new for Sim children to awaken with a start (as if they're afraid) in the morning?

1. No this has been in since launch.

2. Yes, children seem to have this waking animation now. Not sure when it was added, maybe a few patches ago but it is a fairly new animation.

Thanks, Play.  I felt sad when my Sim child cried in her sleep .  I got new speakers recently.  Before that, mine were almost broken, so I could hear them talking but not crying or laughing in bed. 

I thought that startled reaction upon awakening was new, but I thought maybe I hadn't noticed it before.

Good to have that cleared up. My Sim kids almost always wake up startled. But I haven't heard them cry in their sleep yet. Poor darlings

If you mouse over the kids icon just as they are waking up looking startled it says 'loud noise', which is also what it says when the monster under the bed wakes them. So... maybe a bug then?
