@WhirligigWith all the relationship weirdness happening with her parents, Murasaki couldn't wait to move out of there!
Before this RDC, I'd only managed a restaurant once for a tournament challenge last year, so I didn't realize what would happen if Shota sold the restaurant. Now I do, lol.
What really slowed Murasaki down was the Bestselling Author aspiration, which she didn't finish until Saturday. Moss, on the other hand, finished his teen aspiration by Tuesday. And Murasaki's father, Shota, was the first of the founders to complete all of his requirements. I blame those elusive bestsellers!
I'm glad you're supporting Sergio! He thanks you!
@dontmindmeI didn't choose books for Murasaki's museum item because she used most of them to reach $25k publishing income and I wanted her to take the remaining 5 with her to the new house.
I didn't have Moss choose books either because, unless the sim is in the Writer career, they take too long. Moss also took his novels with him to publish at his new home.
I'm going to focus on speed rather than museum value. The vampires are at too much of a disadvantage without reward traits and I don't want to keep non-vamps in the Sciarri homes just for the portraits.
I'm glad Massimo choosing the Casbah Gallery for his break-in made you laugh. It was so surprising that he showed up there. He might be stalking Moss, lol.
By the way, what bloodline options are you playing?
@PeregrineTookYour Westside Story remark cracked me up--every now and then, I remember it then laugh all over again.
And about the restaurant, I feel like I'm constantly building! I had a great idea for the restaurant and am now having trouble with the implementation, grrrr.
Also, my simverse is inundated with aliens! Help!
@wfgodotLol, Murasaki and Sergio are engaged, but they don't get married until this chapter.
Massimo is so weird! Shota gets a notice about the vampire break-in so I watch Massimo.
All he's doing is walking up and down the stairs. Oh yeah, he did some hissing over by the children activity table. And then Moss making those yearning faces. Those two are too funny!
I'm so glad to get away from the madhouse of Murasaki's parents.
Week 4 chez Murasaki Mori, Part III
Monday
Murasaki: It's really been a long day, but I've finally decided on everyone's household roles in this house.
Sergio: I've quit my Tech Guru job and joined the Writer career, so Murasaki and I won't need to work in different rooms!
Murasaki: I'm also in the Writer career. After finishing my daily task, I'll be mentoring Serio in writing.
Due to his new career, he'll zoom though the first tiers of the Bestselling Author aspiration, I bet!
Joaquin: I've also switched jobs, from Entertainer to Painter. I'll probably quit once we get one of the nice easels, though.
Sergio and I both had the Fabulously Wealthy aspiration. Like Sergio, I can work on it on the side.
As a painter, I'll have a better chance of completing Fabulously Wealthy than as a comedian!
Also, what do you think of my new look? I've gone green to match my eyes.
You can see Shota Mori's house behind Joaquin.
Chana: Watchette decided that I should have lavender hair to identify me as a Mori ally.
My duties are gardening, woodworking, and pre-work massages for Murasaki.
Kennedi: Mommy, why did you have brown hair but I have blond hair? And where's my daddy?
Chana: I don't know the answers to either of your questions, Kennedi.
But look, you have three uncles in the house!
Tamari: My second song for Musical Genius seems to be taking forever! I hate this aspiration!
As do I, Tamari, as do I. But you're almost finished with that song, so you might as well keep playing.
Then you can forget about Musical Genius until you have nothing better to do.
Tamari: So I finish writing this song, then what, sis?
Murasaki: Let's see, why don't you mentor Joaquin in Painting until he's level 5, then you can start painting, too.
Good evening, Yuki. Why are you still sitting there?
Yuki: I'm not sure. Hey, what's going to happen to me in this challenge? Do I just stay in that wacky Mori house now?
I hope that craziness isn't infectious!
I'd like to keep you with the Mori bloodline, if you don't mind. Murasaki and Sergio are hoping for a son, so maybe….
Yuki: Well, you better make it fast, Watchette! You see Paolo Rocca back there, giving me the eye?
Sergio: After Murasaki started mentoring me, I realize that the daily task for a Level 1 Writer is reading.
If I must read, I might as well read a Vampire Tome. Time to search for information on vampires!
I need Level 6 Vampire Lore to craft garlic objects, right?
I spent several RL hours trying to figure out how to plant a cowberry in the basement.
As everyone knows, it initially can't be planted in a planter.
Sadly, I filled in a section of the light wells that surround the basement floor.
That didn't work either, so I even more sadly moved the outer wall of the toddler room.
Uni: I've heard of "tiny living," but this is ridiculous!
Sergio: There you go! I completed my daily task, reached Level 6 Vampire Lore, and crafted 2 garlic wreaths.
Is it just me, or does the house look like it's crying?
Tuesday
Murasaki: It's been great having Yuki as a member of our Club Enak!
She not only mentors little Kennedi in Logic but also mentors her mother Chana in handiness.
Tamari: With all the recent fighting and Murasaki preparing to move out, the rocket ship's been ignored.
Moss Benjaminz was the first sim to use it to travel to Sixam, and I'm the first Mori to do so.
Tamari: When I return home, I find Sergio crafting a knife block when he should be downstairs writing.
Also, Yuki keeps staring at him for some reason.
Murasaki: That's it! I'm kicking Yuki out of Club Enak!
Murasaki: After Sergio gets home from his first day at work, we throw a wedding party at San Myshuno's Center Park.
My groom is devastatingly dashing!
And he's also a fantastic kisser!
Joaquin: It's an odd feeling, you know? I've always been the bridegroom before.
And, because he hates children, Sergio's always been the helper.
But my life now isn't bad. And mixing drinks is pretty awesome.
Murasaki: Speaking of awesome, the caterer kneels in deference to my superior wisdom.
And Summer, stop pretending like we're friends. We're not!
Sergio: Joaquin goes from mixing drinks to mixing beats, and we all dance to the music.
It's been a perfect evening!
Murasaki: After the party, I take Chana on a super quick trip to Granite Falls.
She learns the woodworking schematic but I'm just appreciating that big ugly thing!
Wednesday
Murasaki: I'm so glad you've been such a sport about changing careers, Sergio!
Sergio: Well, it was the right move, wasn't it? Now we're always sitting side by side!
If I'd stayed in the Tech Guru career, I would have spent all day in the Focused Room instead of here with you!
Murasaki: And you're doing so well, Sergio! I know you miss working out, Sergio, since you're an active sim.
Sergio: I'm not worried about it! After the restaurant gets on track, I'll have time for that!
Sergio: After I get home from work, Murasaki takes me along to Bargain Bend in Willow Creek.
Murasaki: We spend a few hours here, trying to figure out the restaurant's layout.
I'm going to call it "Pau Hana," which is a Hawai'ian phrase.
It literally mean "work is finished," implying the time for relaxing and socializing after work.
Murasaki: I'm so frustrated about the restaurant staff!
When I try to hire a cook, a waiter, and a host, all the job candidates are mostly alien with one or two disguised aliens.
I even get one living statue. Are there any more human not-in-the-world sims left in our simverse?
By the way, I still haven't started landscaping for Pau Hana but I check Pau Hana's resale value and it's already over $89,000!
Murasaki: A lot will be happening tomorrow, since Sergio and I are both off, so I'm closing this update here.
Coming next: Pau Hana's "Grand Opening" and the Birth of the Heir
