Sims 4/Origin Account question

Hello whom ever is reading this. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my so very urgent question.

So a friend of mine got The sims 4 base game a few years back, and gave it to me as a gift cause he did not play it often and knew i would enjoy it. So i have been playing it off of his account ever since. However, now i want to by an expansion pack, but i wondered what would happen if i bought it on my own origin account. Can i still play the expansion pack if the base was downloaded on another origin account. Or does that not matter seeing that i still have the base game on my laptop?

You'll only be able to play whatever pack if you register it to his account. We strongly recommend buying your own copy of the base game. Then you can purchase whatever packs you'd like and they'd all work together.

You can't share the game between accounts, it's just not possible. It's also against EA/Origin policy to share accounts. The game codes are one time and one account use only.
