Moving Sims 4 to a new laptop after motherboard went out
« on: January 22, 2017, 04:39:58 PM »
The motherboard went out on my laptop and it won't turn on. I bought a new laptop (Dell XPS 15) and the techs at Microsoft are currently copying my files from the old computer to the new one. I know that there is a specific way that you are supposed to copy Sims 4 saved game files to a new computer. I'm sure that the techs aren't doing this. My question is, am I going to be able to get my game transferred over correctly? And if so, how am I going to do that? Thank you! :)

All you need to do is:

1. Copy your Sims 4 folder to a flash drive or other backup media of choice.
C:\Users\<Username>\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4

2. Copy that folder from backup, to the Electronic Arts folder on your new computer after Sims 4 is installed.
