Restaurants and Toddlers?

Has anyone tried to take a toddler to a restaurant and how does it work?

There isn't support for toddlers in restaurants per-say but you can just pop into build mode and place a highchair and feed your toddler as your meal arrives. It still makes for a really delightful family trip, especially if your sims have children as well.

So if a restaurant includes a table or two with a pre-placed high chair, would the host/hostess lead a family with a toddler to that table?
Sorry for asking instead of testing this myself.  I do not and will not have any toddlers in my current save.
(But I'm still curious...)

Not sure I'll try for it just now but I was wondering. :)  Thanks!

I didn't realize before today that high chairs could be attached to tables just like dining chairs!  Very cool.  If you could do that in Sims 3, I never knew.  Now I'm tempted to create a restaurant specifically for families which has at least one high chair at every table.

Yes! Sorry, I didn't think to post that fact! In my sims home I have 3 toddlers, 2 children, 1 teen and 2 adults so they all sit at the dinner table together with the toddlers all tucked into the table in their highchairs. It's so cute!

I don't think the hostess is programmed to do that. But you could set up a toddler-friendly restaurant that has a high chair at every table.
