Do the sims bring presents to parties? And if they do why have I never gotten one?

No, they don't.
Well at least since I've been playing (the day the game came out) I've never had a gift appear.

It'd be pretty cool if they did though.
I've also always wanted to get invites to other Sims parties!

When Sims throw a house party guests will often bring food. At least they have in my games. But as for other gifts, I've never seen any.

I wish my sims could give presents to other sims. That was such a cool feature in sims2.

I think the "Give Present" interaction came with the Seasons expansion in The Sims 2, so hopefully it'll get introduced for Sims 3 as well. Also one thing I remember from Sims 1 was that friends of your Sim would bring a cake with them when the came over to your house, and lovers would bring flowers or chocolates, which I found awfully sweet and was sorry to see go.

There was also a give present interaction in Sims 1 as you could also give chocolates or flowers (or even any jam you have made) to a friend/lover.

Don't know if you knew this yet but with Late Night you go get invites to other Sims parties!

But yeah on the topic I think it would be a great add if they could give presents. How many parties do you actually go to without bringing something? I mean a card at least!
