I have no patients
« on: January 12, 2017, 04:13:29 PM »
Sent my Doctor sim off to work today for the first time since the patch... Arrived to 2 patients on the beds.  None arrived in the waiting room at all throughout the day, and received no house calls either.

He is level 8.  One patient was treated with surgery and left.  The other needed a shot and he was unable to give it to her (he just stood there idly).

Needless to say he's performed very poorly today but at least the x-ray machines are calibrated?

Is this just me, is it the patch?

Oh no! It could very well be the patch. No bug reports but that could simply be because it is just too soon. Can you save your ID under another name and try a few test things?

I bet your prospective patients have all stayed home today, playing with toddlers.

On a serious note, the lack of patients and Cam's unproductive idling are very disturbing. I have no suggestions but I fully sympathize. *shakes fist at Get to Work EP

Yes, I'll make another save and play through a few days.

Well they better not be cause I know it wasn't Cam who delivered those toddlers!

ETA:  In a copy file, day 2 had 4 patients when he arrived, and more were showing up during the day.  There were no house calls... but outside of that I'm thinking that first day was just a weird fluke or something.

I had this happen to me several days ago before the patch. Was "deliver baby" on your work task list? I feel like it has something to do with the pregnant sim problem.

I arrived to work on the first day as a medical specialist, three patients were already there but I had no walk ins all day. "Deliver baby" was on my to do list in the top left corner of the screen for the entire day, but no pregnant sim ever came to the hospital. In fact, I never had a pregnant sim show up in the next six or so work days that followed. Treatable patients would show up most days as they usually do when your sim is at work but not if "deliver baby" was on my to do list. If that task ever popped up on my task list, no more patients came to be treated that day.

This happened during my tournament challenge so I couldn't cheat to get a promotion. It was frustrating to say the least, but I don't think it's because of the patch if it was happening to me on Sunday/Monday.

Yes, that was one of the things I didn't mention.  "Deliver Baby" showed up in the top left corner for the first time.

Yes, the Deliver Baby option has something to do with it. It's frustrating, especially when no pregnant Sim shows up. If you have others in the household, go over to one of them and then come back to your doctor. I seem to recall that that triggered some patients coming in.

There is an open bug report about the deliver baby option never spawning a pregnant sim.

Thank you MarianT, I'm going to try that.  In the "test" file I made, I got my first objective to help the collapsed patient.  There wasn't one, so I did as you suggested.  A few minutes after getting back to my doctor, one showed up.  So I'm hopeful that will happen on the next pregnant event too.

Thanks Play, hope they get it fixed soon.  I didn't even know it came up as an event until this, I thought you just had to wait for one to wander in the door and keep an eye out.

It didn't come up as an event for me, it was just a requirement that you had to complete. I'm guessing that is the 'bug' seeing it as an even that you can't actually do.  :-\
