Change your sims name

Is this possible? The change sims name only pops up at the city hall when my sim has children. Not when I am playing a stand alone sim.

It's possible alright - I've done it a few times. It only works during business hours, like the consignment shop. You can change an adult's name, or even a baby's name. Last name too. I don't k now why it wouldn't work for a stand alone adult.

I've had to change my Sims names a few times also.  I like my female Sims to take the male Sims name when they get married, so I have to change last names when the female marries the male.  A few times I was creative and even hyphenated their names.

Ah yes, they don't change their last name by themself when sims got maried. Smart on doing it this way.

I also had to wait for business hours to change married couples name.
Female Sim Wife-Changed to First Name Last Name - His last name. Same with baby,
first name, mothers last name-fathers last name.

Confirmed ... just done that today, during "Office Hours" at City Hall.
Our Time Machine surprise resident [now a teen] is now Ophelia instead of Ruby.  ;D

Uhm wait, you where saying the time machine changed the name of your Sim to? Could be obvious if you have traveled to the past and somehow have mod the spacetime continuum. Sims actually do that, from time to time.

Leto I think she means that she got a surprise sim from the time machine named ruby, and then she changed her name at city hall to ophelia.
