How to get Tiberium with transmuting?

If you're asking how to get Tiberium to transform from it's raw state to the valuable spire cut state, it's been discussed at length in this thread.  You just leave it in your Sim's inventory for a few days after your Sim gets sick from it.  Then you set it out somewhere and it will transform within a couple of days.  If you're asking something else, I don't understand your question.

you can also get tiberium by transmuting some gems

Are you talking about putting them on that display case and having the sim activate it?

I was referring to Neo-Nightmare's remark. So I'm wondering what recipy there is for the display case to get tiberium. As he seems to know one.

I found my first piece in the asian region, in the shop that sells jars, relics, metals, etc

I found my second piece in my other family's home

("other family" meaning I create family A, played with them, then make family B, and now am currently playing family B)

Anyways, family A has that board-breaking thingo, and when I went over to visit, the dad was bashing meteorites in the backyard, and there were 4 gems around his feet, and one of them was tiberium

Found my third piece in egypt, underneath a tree... Came across it while I was fishing for mummy fish...

What I wanna know is, does it ever multiply???

I mean, I know it grows... From a little shard to a big one... But do small shards ever randomly sprout up from the ground around a bigger shard?

Cause that's what they do in command and conquer... They grow like... Errr... Rabbits? from outta space =S I suppose...

I'm kinda doubting that they do grow, cause I've had mine sitting on the grass for aaaaaageeeeees, and nothing has happened... I've even given one of my shards to another family to put on their lawn, to see if it would work, and another one in their basement... So far, nothing...

There have been plenty of rumors that they grow if you put them on the ground, but we haven't been able to prove it.  So, our official stand at the moment is that Tiberium does not multiply.

I have found some interesting things regrarding this gem that I thought I would share. Someone here (can't remember which post it was) said you put it in your garden. Did that. It grew, didn't double. Then, I went into buy mode, and picked it up. It let me place it right on top of a perfect Avornalino Grape. I thought ahh ok why not.

Waited 1 sim week, 1 day. Got irritated nothing was happening, tried to move it again.. guess what was on the ground? A perfect Avornalino Grape! Couldn't figure out why the hand icon was closed so when I hit escape, there it was. Been using it on my life fruit crops because I am working on nector making..I now have plenty. Apparently, it works much like the omni plant <?> I'm guessing? Dunno! All I know is WOO HOO!!  ;D KACHING KACHING! ;)

**EDIT** your sim will harvest the tiberium, so you have to wait until all fruits / garden is done being harvesting before putting it back. Kind of annoying!  :P
I will love him and squeeze him and pet him and call him George!!

Hi Bogie!

I'm a little confused by your post.  You put the Tiberium directly on top of a grape plant?  And you got a perfect grape?  Or did you get multiple Tiberium?  And how exactly are you using it with your Life Fruit.  Sorry.  I just didn't follow that very well.

Sorry Paml! It's late, and even though I am tired I can't sleep. I think it was just a bug that resulting in duplications of the plants. In other words, I could take the spiral cut Tiberium, and place it directly over my plant. I went into buy/build mode. If I tried to pick up that plant, the hand would be closed. I hit escape. Next thing I know, I've got fruit of the plant I was trying to pick up now in the hand. If it was life fruit (that had not spawned, not 5 am) I would somehow have lifefruit on the ground! Let me see if I can duplicate it. I just quit, so I am going to see if it's still doing it..it might be a bugged game.. thought I was on to something there!  :-\

This is a little quirk that I found last night...Brooke, my little elder sim has an opportunity to donate 4 pieces of tiberium to science facility for study so naturally she has wish to go to Egypt.  I send her to Egypt and she can only find 2.  Dumb store never sells any when I'm there.  :-\

Anywho, she gets home and I take the tiberium out of her inventory cause I don't want it making her sick as she is going to go back to Egypt for more as soon as she can travel again.  I set it out on the lawn by the front door before she goes to bed and lo an behold, next morning, one piece had grown into a full blown crystal spire...no nausea, no green sparks shooting out, nada.  :o  To the devil with the dumb science facility, I cashed that baby in, $38,500 simoleons.  :D

I rather guess that this is a glitch...but I'm lovin it.  ;D

There's still a bit of mystery surrounding the transformation of Tiberium.  Does it have to be in your Sim's inventory until he/she gets sick?  Does your Sim have to travel with the Tiberium?  We don't know for sure.  It appears that the traveling with Tiberium was enough for it to transform in your case.  At the moment, I have a Sim who is getting gems from breaking Space Rock Boards and he's got several pieces of Tiberium from it.  It's been in his inventory for a long time, but isn't making him sick.  It doesn't transform when I take it out, either.  I guess he needs to travel with it.

After a certain amount of time (I think its like a day or more) It transforms from that raw chunk of rock and crud, to that shiny little spire... In raw form, I've never seen it make anyone sick... Only when it's transformed into a spire form, or if you've CUT it into some pretty little shape thingo, does it make your person sick...

*Opens a fancy bookie and slaps on scientist glasseseseses*

Ahem... Tiberium is an alien substance which absorbs its surroundings and grows, becoming more awesome... Meaning if you planted Tiberium next to a field of gold, iron, copper, or even a tree with fruits on it, then it'll absorb all of their properties... Because of this, Tiberium can be virtually turned into any mineral (Valuable building material, resources for energy) Through the right processing... It doesn't mean your brand new car will be a glowing green, they simply extract the safe minerals from the inside...

The way Tiberium absorbs things rapidly can be a path to death... If you had tiberium on your person, then it would eventually mold onto your skin... Through a series of months, it'll make its way through your cells to your blood stream...
Because of the awesomeness of the Tiberium, you will gain such things as a longer life, stronger muscles, a healthier body, basically because of the Tiberium absorbing nutrients, and your body uses it like a baby sucking on a mango...

Long story short, you will eventually BECOME tiberium... Meaning you won't be able to move... If you're lucky, your heart or your blood will crystalize before the rest of your body, and you'll die...

(Back to Sims 3) I've never had my sims die from Tiberium in their inventory... I'll keep on going and see what happens...

If they turn into a sim-sized Tiberium spike, and sell for millions, then I'm gonna have a lot of fun with the neighbours ;D

This is not how it works for me at all!

That would be cool. I've already turned several neighbors into mummies but I can't sell those... ;D

I'm with PJ on this one.  Tiberium can and does make your Sim sick in its raw form.  I believe this happens if your Sim travels with the Tiberium.  And yes, if you have the Tiberium cut, it will make your Sim sick if it's in his/her inventory.  I've recently discovered that you can cut the Tiberium into a Heart shape (vs. the small spire cut) and it will transform into the large spire cut once you remove it from the inventory.  For an investment of $1,000 for the Heart shape cut, you can end up with a $40,000 large spire cut Tiberium.
