Thanks guys...guess I'll just have to put it back in her inventory til it makes her puke.  :D  I must have taken it out too soon cause I didn't want her to be sick.  I'll just have to wait til she gets the nauseaous moodlet.  Hope it goes away as soon as you take it out.

I'll put it in the inventory and travel to a vacation home and put it there.  I was going to sell it anyway after it had changed cause with all the traveling and buying vacation homes, she needs the money.  ;D

It goes away after 2 hours. Then she will run and puke in the toilet. :D

I once removed the Tiberium from a Sims inventory when she was exploring a pyramid and after 2 hours she was way down on the lowest level. She ran all the way outside the pyramid to puke and there was nothing I could do to stop her. Akh! >:( What's wrong with puking in a pyramid?!? :D :D

Ok, so she traveled to China to her vacation home with the tiberium safely in her backpack.  She went to visit her friend and while she was there the nauseaous moodlet comes up.  I got her home just in time so she could throw up.  :P  I took the tiberium out of her backpack and put it in the garden and during the night the 2 pieces turned. (I just love those shooting green thingys.)  One was worth 38,000 simeoleons and the other was 40,000!:o  So I thought I'd just let them sit, maybe they'll multiply.  :D  After spending the night in a tomb, she comes home to find one is worth $466 and the other $360.  :o  Big lesson learned, don't be such a greedy gus...pick them babies up and cash them in.  I was upset cause she really needed the money.  Buying vacation homes in foreign countries are expensive.

LOL PJ.  Absolutely nothing is wrong with puking in a pyramid...do it all the time.  :D

 :o

Oh no! I've never had that happen, I've only had things lose value when Sims travel with them. This is just wrong. :(

That's what I thought! :D

I can't make anything happen with my Tiberium.  :-\

I kept it in his inventory until it made him sick and then I put it in the yard so it could grow. Nothing happened except that it would blow out these little green sparks every once in awhile. I left it out there for several days and finally stuck it back in his inventory and now he's sick again. What did I do wrong?

I think the longer you leave it in your Sim's inventory, the quicker it will turn once you take it out.  I left it in my Sim's inventory for several days and just let him have the negative moodlet.  It only took a day for it to change.  I'd say leave it in the inventory for awhile and try again.

I can only assume the tiberium that won't grow is cut. Be sure you're giving it plenty of room to grow as well. In testing, some of the tiberium never grew until moved all by itself.

Yeah I actually put it back in his inventory for only a little while....long enough for him to get sick again and moved it out and this time, two of them have grown! (he has 4 total) It was in his inventory for several days the first time, that's why I was surprised that nothing happened. (and no it's not cut)

Hmm, so it eventually grows when uncut... when I cut them, I had reliable 2-3 day growth times. I hadn't seen one grow when raw.

Really?  You're cutting all of yours?  For like $6,000 to get the spire cut?  And they grow more after that?

Really? I assumed it was supposed to be uncut....I never thought of cutting it. Oh and it grew IMMEDIATELY when I put it back out the 2nd time. You know how they throw up little green sparks? Well the first one I put out, burped up some sparks and turned into a crystal right away. The 2nd one did the same thing. I was waiting to see if the 3rd and 4th would sprout too, but they haven't yet.

Edited to add the screenshot:

Mine were all green and were coming from Space Rock block breaking. Interesting. I'll try to find some in the wild to test those too.

LOL "find some in the wild!"

I think these mostly came from breaking space rocks as well. But they look kinda greenish blue. I didn't realize they were tiberium when I first got the sim to pick them up because I thought they were either emeralds or topazes.

I never cut mine and they always turn into the 40.000 simoleon crystals. But - they seem to need to travel and also to have been in the Sims inventory for some time, couldn't say how long.
I just leave the raw gems in inventory until the Sim gets sick then take them all out. The ones not shooting the green sparks I put right back in inventory because they won't change, they need to "cook" a little longer or to travel again or something...?

I don't think there's any difference; the color is just weird. Sometimes it looks blue, sometimes green.

you can also get tiberium by transmuting some gems
