Anna has been extremely active since her days of working through Rambunctious Scamp, and her favourite thing to do is basketball – she whiled away her teen years Dreaming Big. It’s a mystery to the Johnsons, who all tend towards extreme laziness, but they respected her decision to become a professional athlete anyway. Natalie even considered joining Anna for a game, but she didn’t really understand the rules. Or the point.

Anna’s also getting into kickboxing. I’m glad somebody’s actually using the gym – other than Ada developing a passing fascination with yoga, it’s been gathering dust since Richard died.

Charlotte, on the other hand, they find much easier to understand. Christopher was delighted to finally have somebody to mentor in logic, and she is now an official Nerd Brain.

Maybe she was feeling misunderstood, but one day Anna wandered out of the house and found herself in San Myshuno. She bumped into Tate McCollum in the park. He has the active trait too, and they clicked.

Anna invited him round to meet the family...

...and, as the cliché goes, one thing led to another.

Which led to another.

That occupied one of the three open spots in the household. Which left Charlotte to take care of the other two, to prevent any dynasty-ending twins.

The main appeal of Nobuya Ishikawa may have been the lack of shining armour, but let’s pretend their eyes met across a crowded room and Charlotte knew she’d met her true love. Something like that, anyway.

He was easily persuaded to move in, and therefore become the next spouse, as there’s no room for anybody else.

They spent a few moments looking into each other’s eyes in the Pollination Room.

Then Charlotte realised that there is no laundry in Sims 4 yet, and so the sheets hadn’t been changed since Malcolm’s day. With that in mind, Charlotte proposed getting out of the house, stat, and they found themselves on a date, having a deep conversation about 8-person household limits, Anna’s impending due date, and how they felt under no pressure at all, honest.

Pressure or no pressure, the date went well.

Very well.

Charlotte made Nobuya’s position as Spouse official. Almost.

I got rid of the red socks and dreadlocks, although I let him keep the annoying soul patch.

And a delighted Charlotte announced her pregnancy to an even-more-pregnant and even-more-delighted Anna. “Neither of us can have twins!” “Oh thank God!”

(Incidentally, Nobuya didn’t see a problem with standing between two pregnant women clutching what appears to be something alcoholic, sorry, I mean juice. If Anna fancied using him for kickboxing practice, I’m not sure I’d blame her.)

Ada was only slightly more sensitive than Nobuya, opting for, “My goodness, Anna, you’re gigantic!”

Fortunately for Anna, Lily Bjergsen entered the world not long afterwards.

The Johnsons were delighted with their new Gen 5 Spouse, sorry is that too creepy household member and rushed to the nursery to see her, resulting in Lily being cuddled by a horrifying blended mutant Natopher. It’s no wonder she was crying.

And the next morning, Charlotte went into labour at breakfast.

It’s a boy. Phew! Welcome, Matthew Johnson.

And Natalie celebrated the babies’ arrival by acquiring a new hobby. Nice and quiet, to help the little nooboos sleep.

Next time on The Johnson Dynasty: Toddler Spam, en masse :D

Yay! Welcome to Matthew and Lily! Very pleased the Bjergsen name lives on. I'm very impressed that you managed to evoke Frozen's Anna so well using the Sims clothing. She's perfect!

So excited to see the upcoming toddlers!

You do remember I've just replaced my keyboard after a drink-related incident, don't you?

In fact, it was just as well I put the mug down for the rest of the chapter :D  Looking forward to the toddlerspam.

Sorry  ;D

Lily had her toddler birthday. I was hoping she’d take after Anna, so naturally she inherited much of her DNA from Tate.

Tate’s colouring or no, she’s very cute. Have some completely pointless toddler spam:

Charlotte had a birthday.

And Natalie and Christopher continued their efforts to merge into one Sim. (Would they still count as two immortals, if they managed it?)

Matthew aged up to toddler. He’s inherited Charlotte’s hair, but I finally have a change from the Johnson eyes. I was starting to get very slightly sick of them.

He’s a bit of a sulky git...

...but Lily seems to like him.

The full household means that there can no longer be a pollinator. Christopher has nobly stepped into the breach to keep the few remaining houses going for one last generation. All for the sake of the dynasty, you understand.  Having level 10 charisma means that he’s alarmingly good at it: it took him one morning to, um, visit the three houses that currently have adult/YA women living in them.

Anna aged up and become a full adult :( I’m getting far too attached to her, given that she can never be immortalised.

Moments later, Lily also blew out her candles.

She’s picked up the Cheerful trait, purely because it’s my favourite.

The whole family rallied round to teach Matthew his toddler skills.

And with about three minutes to go until he aged up, he became a top-notch toddler. Phew!

Which means it’s cake time :D

Matthew’s become a genius, and wannabe whiz kid.

And he got to celebrate his birthday by, um, more skilling :)

Oh, Sims 4 toddlers can have glasses!  (As a former real-life glasses-wearing toddler, that pleases me to a quite irrational extent :D.)

Is Matthew a would-be Bee?  ;D

Hooray for toddler spam! So adorable, especially the hugging. I cannot get enough of it. Nice job on your top-notch toddler! I haven't managed to produce one yet, but I'm trying.

Way to take one for the team on the pollinating, Christopher! Glad to see you seem to have a talent for it. :)

Ah, skilling! The perfect way to celebrate a birthday. At least the kids get to do it together. They're both very cute.

Matthew and Lily are adorable!
Child Lily with her mesmerizing green eyes is a looker!
I'm especially a fan of nerdy-looking toddler Matthew ageing up to become a Genius Whiz Kid.

Great work, Watcher, on raising a Top-Notch Toddler! What is the secret of your success?

Lily and Matt both say thanks :)

Um, I’m not sure I have a secret... I guess multitasking, keeping them in the right mood for the skill they’re trying to level up, stacking moodlets (good meal, being near a fireplace etc.). Oh, and binning the high chair. Group servings placed on the nursery floor were much quicker and stopped endless pathing errors with assorted adults fighting over who got to put them in the high chair/get them out again.

Thank you for providing me with a very entertaining read. I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Rachel

Thank you for reading it :)

Charlotte threw the first weenie roast of the dynasty, although I can’t help but notice that the alleged hostess didn’t spend much time actually attending it.

And while everybody was in the party mood, Charlotte and Nobuya finally tied the knot.

Nobuya had his elder birthday – without a cake, as he’d just that moment got home from work.

Charlotte began a few days of intensive socialising to get her six good friends into place.

Matthew accompanied her on her tour of Windenburg, and used other people’s computers and chemistry sets to knock out Whiz Kid and make a start on Rambunctious Scamp.

There was a run of birthdays. Lily aged up to teen. I gave her the neat trait, because she's been developing a strange and annoying tendency to leave dirty dishes lying around in the flowerbeds, and I'm hoping to stop her. If this doesn't work, she's getting the insane trait for her YA birthday. And eternal bug-spraying duty.

Charlotte aged up to elder.

And then Matt joined Lily at high school. He’s added the Geek trait, naturally.

Now that Matthew’s a teen, he’s been able to start on his chosen aspirations. Computer Whiz:

And Soulmate, along with Lily. Who could’ve seen that coming? ;)

Charlotte celebrated her elder birthday by placing her best books into the museum.

And then, it was time for ambrosia.

She and Nobuya hadn’t seen a whole lot of each other for some time, as Charlotte had been writing/working/chugging moodlet solvers for most of their extended engagement and marriage. Now though, they made up for lost time.

Mere hours after they renewed their vows, old age caught up with Nobuya :(

Which must have made Anna feel really good about the fact that it was her elder birthday.

Yaaaaay! Congratulations Charlotte! The museum display is stunning!

Awww. Look at the teeny-bopper lovebirds! I did maybe see it coming a little bit, but I am no less touched by their sweetness.

Farewell to Nobuya! I'm glad he and Charlotte got some sweet moments together at the end.

I’m not sure whether or not I should thank you on Matthew’s behalf, but thanks for the congratulations :)

Well, Grow Your Own Spouse is kind of a dynasty tradition, and I hadn’t done it yet. They really are sweet, though – I had to lock Lily out of Matt’s study, otherwise she keeps coming in to hug him and he doesn’t get any work done. Which Matt would be just fine with, but I wouldn’t.

Woooo, you are flying through this challenge, Alex!
Congrats to you and your dynasty family on the fourth immortal!

Well done on immortality Charlotte.

Rachel

Thanks, both!

Matthew got to spend his first Saturday as a teenager fixing all the plumbing that had broken over the past week. Lucky, lucky Matthew.

Once it was all repaired, he headed off to find Lily, and asked her to be his girlfriend. She was rather excited :)

And since they want to be soulmates and all, they went one step further and exchanged promise rings.

On Sunday, before I could get any ideas about making Matthew fix stuff, they headed to Oasis Springs to get a bit of time to themselves.

Well, almost to themselves.

Once their gold medal had been earned, they ran away from the creepy lurking guy, and went off for a second, stalker-free date in San Myshuno.

At that point, they ran out of stuff they could do to progress on the Soulmate aspiration before their birthdays. No harm in practicing, though...

Then Lily had her young adult birthday, and the whole dating thing briefly felt a little inappropriate.

Fortunately, Matt is only a couple of days younger.

Matt has become a perfectionist, and joined the Tech Guru career. Lily has convinced me that she is not insane and no longer puts dirty dishes in the garden, so her final trait is Romantic. She’s signed up as a secret agent.

Now that they’re both grown-ups, they experimented with all the new romantic interactions that had suddenly become available to them.

They can even try for a baby. So they did.

They spent Lily’s first trimester working on Soulmate: lots of dates, umpteen romantic interactions – it’s a tough life.

The second trimester was spent on a quick honeymoon (they’d been waiting for the weekend, to avoid clashing with work). Slightly awkwardly, Natalie insisted on tagging along, so that she could work on her fish collection.

Guess what Matt’s museum items are going to be...

Lily went into labour moments after arriving home. Welcome to the mad house, Reuben!

Matthew discovered the secret of parenting: sleep replacements with every meal.

And soon, we had another toddler running toddling around.

And standing around gormlessly to watch him play immediately became the family’s new favourite hobby. Weirdos.

Congrats to Matt and Lily!
(Great news that the Exchange Promise Rings bug has been fixed!)

Awww, the redheaded Reuben is adorable!
I don't blame the family for wanting to stand around watching Reuben.
One, he's so cute. Two, it's better than being banished outdoors in search of angelfish!
