Most Cost Effective Way to Grow Plasma Fruit
« on: December 04, 2010, 02:02:04 PM »
So, it doesn't sound like Plasma Fruit bushes are very... fruitful. While I just fed it and am waiting for it to come to harvest state, my thoughts are that maybe feeding an omni plant Plasma Fruit and trying to grow it that way is a better money maker. Thoughts? (I have a sim who is a self-employed gardener.)

I have not worked with plasma fruit much, but if I would you, if your trying to make more money- then don't just focus on throwing plasma fruit in a omni plant. You can put books, death fish, and more and it will get you alot more money to go towards your gardening.

Leave the Plasma fruits unless you have a Vampire, they make your sism sick if they eat them and it is far more worth doing what Bde said or invest a lot of time into Money Trees to make loads of money.

But if you really want plasma fruits, be it for your sim or maybe a vampire you'll have later, or for whatever reason it is, then growing bushes of it until it's harvestable, and then feeding it to omni plants is quite a nice idea. It is indeed more profitable, because plasma bushes only give 2 fruits each, while omni plants can give you up to 4 (5 minus the one you fed it). I suggest only doing this after the plasma fruits get Perfect quality, because Omni Plants can't increase the quality of the stuff it is fed.

But a lot of people have had the Omni plants bugged including myself, I can't order any and on one game I couldn't feed them so I am unsure if that is the same for everyone.

Yea, my main Sim can't order them anymore, either. I just use my other Sim to order them. If you don't have another Sim to do it, you can just access Buydebug and give yourself omni plants (NOT the seed spawners, just the plant). It's "not really cheating" if you use it to overcome a bug...

What do you mean by 'Other Sim' does that Sim need to have done the Omni Plant Ops? I can't use Buydebug because I am in a Dynasty game, besides if I go into Buydebug I get sidetracked.  :D I think Plasma fruits were only added to the game so we could have vegetarian vampires other than that they are useless, my sims keep making plasma pancakes and then throwing up afterwards. Of all the lifefruit, grapes, apples and melons they opt for the plasma fruit?

Yes, the "Other Sim" must have the gardening opportunity-chain completed.

Plasma fruits are also good for making Nectar for vampires, and are also a way to make food for vampire children (being limited to Plasma Packs until you age up must suck, huh?).

Well looks like my Dynasty is doomed to have no Omni's for a long time till they fix the bug. I have had a lot of Vampires but no Vampire children which is strange for me, I didn't know they only could drink the packs from the fridge. I suppose that would be creepy, a toddler vampire jumping down at you from the stairs and attaching itself to your throat...  :-\ Another thing with Plasma Plants is that the Vampire Gnomes arrive I have never noted how much they sell for so maybe that could help even the cost out?

I guess they're just 1000 just like the others...

How many offsprings have your vampires ever had? Because there's a 50% chance of the baby being a vampire if the parents are Normal-Vampire, and (duh :P) 100% if they're Vampire-Vampire.

One but I aged him up to a YA straight away as I was using him for the ages of Vampires. I am thinking of having a new Vampire child though so I better get some Plasma fruit in.

I don't pay much attention to the Gnomes but does a new Vampire Gnome appear everytime you plant a Plasma fruit? If they did then that would be quite profitable.

Yes, the "Other Sim" must have the gardening opportunity-chain completed.

I'm confused by this.  If your "main" Sim has completed the opportunity chain and cannot order Onmi seeds, how can an "other" Sim in your household order them?  If Omni seeds are bugged, they would be bugged for the entire household.

The "other sim" must have finished the opportunity after whatever-bugged-it happens. I, for example, haven't tried to order omni seeds since before installing Late Night, so I can't be sure if it got bugged from the expansion, the patch(es) or because I moved the lot to a different neighborhood.

However, after moving my sim, I also merged 2 more sims to the household, because I figured he could use some company, and one of those sims completed the gardening opportunity-chain and is able to order omni seeds.

Ok, I think I understand what you're saying.  My Sim, Carina, had the ability to order Omni seeds before I installed Late Night and now it's bugged for her.  But if I got someone else in the family to complete the chain, she might be able to order Omni seeds because she got the ability AFTER the bug came with the Late Night installation.  Is that what you're saying?
