I just ran into a bug in which the arrested suspect is declared innocent after being fully interrogated and has to be released. A person who later fits the profile turns out to be the police chief and can't be interrogated. I discussed this with others on the Challenge team, and we decided that anyone who gets this can start over. I plan to keep playing on, which is also an option.

Hi, do we start out in a EA/Maxis Pre-built house, like one of the ones that come with the game or do we build our own? Are we allowed to download a house from the gallery? Also, what are our starting funds?  :(

Oh dear, I thought they had fixed this issue! Seems like they broke it again. I don't blame you for carrying on Marian, it's been interesting playing these two careers in test files but playing both at the same time is a nightmare I'd only want to do once more for my score file :)

Your choice.

Are we allowed to download a house from the gallery?

No.

Also, what are our starting funds?  :(

Everyone starts with $22 - $20k for your first Sim and $2k for the 2nd Sim.

Good news -- I sent my detective back to work today, and the former chief of police was in prison. She was able to interrogate him and complete the case. I'm not sure whether this was a bug, as the notification that a suspect was innocent and the appearance of the action to let him go were obviously coded in.

We clarified "treating patients" as follows:

P & P — Patients and Perpetrators. This is a multiplier for your Household Income. Everyone starts with a 1.00 P & P multiplier, and for every patient diagnosed and treated add .05 to your multiplier. For every perpetrator jailed add .10 to the multiplier. In the doctor career, interactions through the desk (House Calls, Assessing Collapsed Patient, etc.) do not count.

My doctor diagnosed and treated 16 patients for a score of .8; my detective solved 3 cases for a score of .3. They made $41,632. 41,632 x 2.1 = 87427.

Marian - just to make sure...are you equating what your 2 Sims "made" and Household Funds?

My household funds were 14595 and my detective solved 1 case and my doctor cured 10 patients for a multiplier of 1.60 and a grand total of 23352. I really can't wait til then end of the challenges so that I can see how people do these. I'm new to Sims 4 and challenges.

Even though the detective career was extremely buggy, my detective/doctor duo aged up with the following:

Household funds: 53,243
P&P: 5.05

Total: 268,877

Doctor Elizabeth Blackwell and Detective Endeavour Morse aged up into elders with household funds of $56,703.
On the way Elizabeth diagnosed and treated 46 patients and Endeavour solved 3 cases (barely...that last one was close..after wrongly arresting 4 people...).

So the total is $56,703 x ([1.0 + (0.05x46) + (0.1x3)]= 3.6) =204,130.8
