Lowering sims' fitness stat?
« on: December 10, 2016, 09:02:23 PM »
is there a way to do this? I've searched a lot and the cheats only work for increasing it... If there's no simple way then maybe with a script or something?

It seems like to me it would increase/decrease by the given number?

For example:

To increase the fitness level you could type in: stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 8

To decrease the fitness level you could type in: stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 1

@MrsFlynn --- That's how I do it, too.

@numbuh4 --- Welcome to the forum 8)!  You may replace the number in @MrsFlynn's example with any number from 1 to 10 --- depending on what you want your Sims' skill level in the fitness skill.  Here is a link about how to set a sims' skill level in other skills --- since the cheat for fitness is slightly different.

hi, thanks for the replies. I think that's the cheat i used
I just typed stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 1 five times and nothing happened, then stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 10 and it works... are you sure decreasing works for you?

Edit: Just tried 2 and it worked lol... Was so stubborn about getting it all the way down I didn't bother trying another number. Still I'd like to know if there's a way to get it down to 1 or 0

I'm not entirely sure if there's away to fully take away the fitness level once they have it.

But all you need to to is either type it in, like mentioned above or copy/paste the cheat into the cheat console.

How-To: Copy and Paste Cheats

Try to copy/paste the cheat like this: stats.set_skill_level Skill_Fitness 1 into the cheat console.

I did find this while searching on the question. It still sounds like you can't remove skills.

Remove Skills?

The solution is to use the cheat and set the skill level to 1. After you do that you will see the bar drop all the way back and after you keep playing it will remove it (as long as you don't have them engage in using that skill).

However, you've mentioned setting skill level to 1 isn't working anymore. So maybe skill levels are stuck between 2 - 10.

At least you can still set the skill back to 2 if you don't really want your Sim to have a particular skill.  That's what I do about the mischief skill.  However, I have let my Sims try some new mischief socials a few times to see what happens, and some of those socials are awesome!

@numbuh4 --- I meant to mention that you can't use 0 as a number in the skills cheat.  Typing 1 used to work, but maybe that will be fixed in the next patch --- or maybe it's only happening because the stuff pack "Vintage Glamour Stuff" was just released on December 6.

Some stuff works with 0 like videogaming, fitness is just weird... Are you sure 1 worked with fitness? I would try just letting it level down by itself if I could get it down there

@numbuh4 --- Skill level 1 used to work, so, you could keep trying to see if that gets fixed.  Even if they may retain a higher fitness level than you prefer, if you want to change your Sims' appearance, then use the following cheat ---
after testingcheats is on
cas.fulleditmode
Then, press esc on the cheat console (box)
click on the Sim, and click, modify in cas.
You may change anything about your Sim, including weight and muscle tone in cas --- with that cheat enabed.

Yea I know about that, just need a way to get rid of the fitness stat for now. Guess I'll just wait or try and look into scripting sometime

@numbuh4

Typing this worked for me (on fitness nut Don Lothario):

testingcheats on
stats.set_skill_level skill_fitness 0
testingcheats off

It works, what the... I hope I didn't just forget to enable testingcheats, I know it resets to off when you switch households but it is possible I could've forgotten about it. If that's the case I feel kinda stupid LOL
Btw if anyone's curious the stat you set to 0 goes away completely when you go to manage worlds and re-enter the household. Thanks for the help everyone
