Can't age up one of my sims
« on: November 30, 2016, 05:42:00 PM »
Hi, so I have all the sims 4 expansion games and up to the latest update.
I have made a sim and made her marry guy she met in the city. My sim's age bar is filling up and working normally however the guy's age bar is not working. The bar is fully grey but it says he has 4 days to age up. And he's been on 4 days for a week of sims time now. I tried to bake a cake but while she can age up it says he's not eligible to age up. Any fixes for this? Thanks

Hi @Alice122  Welcome to the forum.  :)  There is a bug with townies that have been used by the game as one of the San Myshuno weirdo sims. (Raccoon suits, swim wear and boots, or men with shorts, hat, boots and no shirt).  So the chances are this sim is one of those! lol.

The open bug report link is here so that you can go add a 'me too' and have a read.

I think you correct the issue by enabling testingcheats on and then typing in traits.remove_trait isWeirdo but I haven't tested this.

@Alice122 Sorry that didn't work. Have you tried changing his age in CAS using the cas.fulleditmode on cheat? It probably won't make him age onwards but at least it should allow you to move him onto the next age stage.

Hi yes I just did and he's in adult stage now at least
Hoping there will be solution soon as unfortunately ageing him this way I can't process with his life aspiration as it didn't count him as an adult.

Hi Alice,

If you need to move his aspiration along, then, use the following cheat: aspirations.complete_current_milestone

Wait......there is a "Weirdo" trait now? OMGZ I gotta see this. Did it come from an add on pack or was it part of a patch or am I not reading this right? LOL

@Rangervegas  Nope. The trait is ... "isWeirdo" lol  ;) It is like the hidden maid trait etc. It came with City Living and basically forces sims in the San Myshuno world to be a city 'weirdo'.

These sims wear the weirdest outfits and have some of the animation idles of insane sims without actually needing the insane trait. I know this as I took one onto CAS and gave him a make-over before I realized the game used him like this. I thought he would just make a cute townie to keep around. He is a game generated townies and his traits are non-committal, dance machine and active as assigned by the game.

So the hidden trait 'isWeirdo' adds these 'weird' behaviours and clothes but the rest of the time the sim is just normal. When he turns up to my sims club meetings and/or parties he is completely ordinary and wears the clothes I gave him in CAS. When the game pushes him to be a 'weirdo' he wanders the streets in a green top hat, black shorts and workers boot. Poor guy.  :-\

These sims don't really do anything but add to the developers vision of city life I guess, oh and add a raccoon costume to the sims at times too.

@Playalot --- That's a great trait..."is weirdo" --- ha ha :P!  I put all the raccoon and human statue Sims into two apartments --- so, I guess all the "is weirdos" live together.  They do add to the pack, though :).

I'm a little undecided about them @coolsim9999999  It just always seems to be the ugliest of game generated sims that end up being my weirdo sims.  :-\ I mean seriously; do elderly female sims burn their bras on the elder birthday?  ???

lol --- I just fix all that stuff in cas, so when they're not in their weirdo outfit, they look alright.  I also fix my elderly Sims in cas :P.

Ok sounds interesting.....as long as the game doesent overuse/abuse it. :D Sounds like a likely new option for DP to put into MCCC, "Limit 'Is Weirdo' to x possible sims per neighborhood" or something like that. I don't have CL yet though so I don't think they will be showing up in my game anytime soon. :D
