Order of Sim in portrait panel changes after growing up?

I have one Young Adult and a Teen Sim, after the Teen grew up their portrait switched. Originally they were in that order in the portrait panel (YA,T) but now have flipped. Anyone have any idea why they flipped or how to get them to change back in the right order? It's really frustrating I always liked to keep things in their right order : (

I forgot to add that when the sim grew up they were in the right order, but after I quit the game and went back their order were switched.

I know what you mean about the order of the sims in your UI. There is no way of changing this that I know of.  I remember it annoying me in a generational game I was playing a I had become very used to the order and kept clicking on the wrong sim after it changed!

Weirdly I don't think it always changed either! @oshizu  ? @MarianT  ?

@Playalot --- I had a problem once, in which my Sims in my main Sim family were  "out of order".  I alleviated that dilemma by purchasing a potion of youth for each of my Sims.  Then, I only placed one potion of youth on the table and directed one Sim to drink it.  Then, I repeated the process for each Sim.  In that way, I retained the order of Sims, which I wanted .

Oh! That's a cool way of solving the problem. I wonder if it would work with any sort of food/drink?

Play --- Thanks !  I open the fridge for my Sims and direct each of them to the meal that I want them to devour --- if it's leftovers. If they don't have enough time to eat something more substantial, I pull their coolers out of their inventories, and place them next to each bed.  So, it seems to work with food and drink. 

I haven't tried it at their home bar, but I'll bet that would work, too !

Sorry to take so long to respond, but I've been watching how the UI portraits line up in my game to see if I reach any conclusions.
In short, I occasionally notice that my sims portraits change their order, especially after a birthday, but then the order seems to correct itself the next time I load the game.

Honestly, when compared to some of the really bothersome game glitches I've experienced (conspicuous lagging, broken aspiration counters, crashing, long loading times, lost retail perks and collections, culling), I don't bat an eyelash at household sims lined up in the wrong chronological sequence.
I guess it's all relative.

I don't mean to trivialize your problem @Faerin   My short answer is: the portrait sequence eventually corrects itself without my doing anything about it.

@oshizu --- I have aging off in my regular games, so maybe that's why the order of my Sims' portraits hasn't changed since I fixed it.
