I'm new with LateNight, care to share info?

Hello,

I got this LateNight just yesterday, yes I have been dying to have it. Not confident with the bug report, but after some opinion from friendly people here, I decided to buy it
and plus I'm happy that the new patch are also out. so no regret yet.

Installed it, patch it, and move all the new building to sunset valley. I can enjoy the new features right away.
but I have three questions, and maybe some of you can share some information with me

1. It's about the Venue and hangout. I invite out my partner sim to the disco bar (I forgot the bar name) so it's like a date, a group of two, taking elevator to the disco bar, and order, my sim walk right to the bar and order a drink. My partner sim often go right away to the room with bouncer who love to kick out people, she is poor and is not a celebrity so she got rejected, the problem is, when she got rejected, she annoyed and break from the group and go home, running, crying maybe. huh. I'm okay if it's for the sake of realistic gameplay, (if you got rejected by bouncer you run straight away to your home), but every single time I invite my partner sim out to that disco bar, the same thing happen, well sometimes she dance a little bit, but in the end she always tried to go to that, "VIP" room, which she will got rejected and automatically breaking from group, so yeah my sim never had a great hangout. Is this a bug? or maybe you have tips or trick to work this situation out?

2. It's about Band, I have read all 4 pages of this latenight categories that related to band making, but I do have a question that I did not have the answer yet. I created a band, and start asking friends and townies to join, so my band finally consist 4 people.
The question is, can I assign people in my band to play specific instrument?
Can I make a band that consist of a drummer, 2 guitars and 1 bass? (no piano) or is it have to be complete instrument?
Because so far, when I ask them to join jamming, they recognize their first instrument as their role. Can I at least change it? I still can't find the clear line here. or is it random? I mean, they have to play specific instrument so they can develop skill right? My pianist sometime play the guitar, my guitarist suddenly put out a drum set from his pocket and play on the park.
I do read carl's guide about band, but I can't find anything about a personnel role there.

3. It's about celebrities, cool, liked the idea, BUT, based on your experience playing LateNight, can whole neighbor become a celebrity? They start slow enough, and I realized, there are a lot of star on the park now. When everyone are celebrities, no one will be.

The main problem with what you're suggesting is when you'd get to a gig. Gigs are always already set up with all 4 instruments — so your 2nd guitarist would be heading to the keyboard.

If you go to Edit Town mode, you can replace the instruments in the venues (hint:  there's an electric guitar in the BuyDebug menu!).

Oh, cool. Great tip. Thanks. Players can go the Lynyrd Skynyrd route and have 3 lead guitarists!

haha ok so i can make a 2 guitars band that is cool thanks! uh but, how about assigning role, how can i make a sim play specific instrument? any idea?

I believe if the band members have a certain instrument level higher then another, they will automatically play that instrument. E.G. a sim that is a level 5 at the guitar, and a level 7 at the piano. I think at a gig they will automatically play the piano. So just have two guitars at the gig and the sims should automatically pick guitar.

About your question regarding the venue, where one Sim cannot get in.  My reply is that some venues require a certain level of celebrity status before they let in Sims trying to enter. I did not bother to bribe the bouncer. So I got the Sim to buy the reward called "Unlimited Entry" (I forgot the exact name), it costs around 20,000 simoleons. Whoever has this reward can enter any venue any time, PLUS the bonus that his whole group (even if they are not celebrities) can also get in. That's how this first family I moved into BP managed to all become celebrities and get the choice club and venues every night. Cheers!
