The Jones Immortal Dynasty2.0: Updated 12/10
« on: November 22, 2016, 09:44:56 AM »
My first attempt at writing an immortal dynasty story failed when I forgot to make my sim eat ambrosia:
http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?topic=26958.msg448833#msg448833

But Adam Jones is back! Hopefully his watcher is a little less negligent this time....

Chapter One: Deja Vu

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Do you ever get the feeling that you've done something before, even when you're sure you haven't? My name is Adam Jones and I've moved from Sunset Valley to Willow Creek to found an immortal dynasty. But I've feel like I've been here before, even though I'm quite sure I've never left Sunset Valley. I can't put my finger on it, and yet...it all seems so familiar.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I wander over to the park, unable to shake these strange thoughts. I walk over to the first person I see to introduce myself. "My name is Adam," I tell the chess playing woman. Without waiting for her response, I take a seat across from her.

"My name is Lily. Can I help you?"

"Maybe. I need help for my immortal dynasty."

Lily shook her head. "Absolutely not. I know what you mean by that. I have no intention spending the rest of my days fishing and gardening just to die an inglorious death. The helpers of an immortal dynasty do all the work and get none of the benefits."

I didn't know how to respond. It seems my dynasty was off to a rocky start, if the very first person I saw immediately disliked me.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"I hate to interrupt," a voice said. "But did you say you're doing an immortal dynasty?"

I looked at the woman who had just approached. "Yes," I told her. "I'm looking for help."

"My name is Moriah and I love gardening. I would like nothing more than to spend the rest of my life gardening. I can graft plants and make a death flower for you."

Maybe things were looking up. "I would love that! You can spend the rest of your life gardening in exchange for a free place to live."

"Free rent sounds like a pretty big benefit to me." Moriah smirked at Lily, and I had my first roommate.

Moriah and I set off to find more roommates.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Moriah!" I whispered. "Don't make friends with the hobo. We need people with money."

"I think the hobo thing might be a ruse," Moriah responded. "I think he's really rich."

"Nah, let's head to the park in Oasis Springs and see who's there."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Once in Oasis Springs, however, I was, um... distracted by an intelligent and well-spoken young lady.

"I like pink," Luna told me. "And shopping. And pink."

"That is so interesting," I responded.

"Adam!" Moriah's voice was an unwelcome interruption. "Let's go home. I met this lady, Katrina Caliente, who agreed to move in. She has two daughters and they're all gonna learn how to fish. Oh and this guy is coming too. We'll find something for him to do."

Reluctantly, I followed Moriah home. My first day had been a success.

Great start! Glad Adam is back for another try. Moriah seems like a very intelligent and useful helper. I look forward to seeing where this goes!

Glad to see Adam back!

Love Moriah's practical and take-charge attitude. She's certainly an asset.
Pooh on you, Lily Feng! The four-member Caliente household trumps you and whatsiz-name any day!

Best wishes on your new start!

But, but.....but....she loved shopping, and pink!  How could you walk away from that?   ;)  Moriah sounds like a great find.  You're well on your way with a houseful of helpers and who knows, maybe one of the Caliente gals will also like shopping, and pink, and want a romance!  Glad you're giving it another shot.

Chapter Two: Poor Malcolm
« Reply #4 on: November 23, 2016, 06:47:09 PM »
Yeah, I felt so bad about messing up Adam's last try when I decided to do this challenge again I had to use him. I've gotten a little attached the guy. I hope we make it this time!

Chapter Two: Poor Malcolm

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"So Mom," Nina asked. "Why did you move us out of our nice home into this box-like house to spend rest of our lives fishing?"

"I don't know. This lady came up to me and she was talking and before I knew it she was like 'so you'll move in then' and I didn't know what to say so I said 'yeah' and...but I heard there will be parties too. And though this house is box-like it's very welcoming somehow."

"Yes," Nina agreed. "I do enjoy the convivial atmosphere in this home. I guess it could be OK. And since Adam is trying to max both types of cooking all he is does is cook all day and this food is amazing."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"OK Adam," Moriah said after finishing the last of the breakfast dishes. I, as usual, was cooking. "I've got everything I need to grow a death flower plant except cherries. The Landgraabs have a cherry tree on their lot. I need you to go harvest it. I would go myself but it might take a few days to blossom and since you have the Always Welcome trait you can get away with a lot more than me."

"Sure." I shrugged.

"I've sent the Caliente women out to the river to fish. I wouldn't be surprised if they catch some angelfish soon. Your lot is the perfect place to catch them."

"Hmm."

"I can't convince that Don to do anything other than introduce himself to all the single women. I don't think it was a good idea to give him a double bed. It might cause...problems."

"Really?" I asked. "All the single women? Even, say, that nice girl Luna, that we met at the park in Oasis Springs?"

"Adam. You have so much to do before you can even think of such things. I need you to focus."

"OK, fine. Cherry tree. Landgraabs. Got it."

I raced over to the Landgraab mansion, knocked on the door, and then walked in looking for a person to talk to. I heard someone in the bathroom and hurried to introduce myself.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Hi!" I told the teenager. "I'm Adam! I really need to grow some cherries, so I was hoping I could stay here until your tree blossoms and then grab some t plan on my lot."

"Um, I'm in the bathroom," Malcolm replied.

"I can see that. About the cherry tree..."

"Look," Malcolm interrupted me. "I feel this strange desire to allow you to stay but I need you to promise you will leave me alone when I'm in the bathroom."

"No problem new friend!" And with that, I gained a place stay while waiting for the cherry tree.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The next morning, Malcolm caused a fire trying to make food in the kitchen.

"Leave all the cooking to me," I told him. I spent the next few days practicing my cooking using the grill in the backyard.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The cherry tree did finally bloom and I was able to harvest some to take back to Moriah. But something was bothering me and I had to ask about it before I left. I headed back into the kitchen where Malcolm was finishing a meal I had cooked for him.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Malcolm," I asked, "I've been here almost three days and I haven't seen either one of your parents even once. Why are they never home?"

"My parents hate each other," Malcolm told me. "They don't come home because they might accidentally run into the other one, so I'm basically here by myself all the time."

"Poor Malcolm. No wonder you're broken."

"I'm not broken!"

"You kinda are."

And so I left the Landgraabs, hoping that my future family would fare better, because immortality is a long time.

Ain't No Party Like an ID Party

Chapter Three: Ain't No Party Like an ID Party

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I sat down on the couch next to Don to have an important conversation with him. "Don," I began. "It's really important that you don't romance Luna Villareal."

Suddenly a woman sat down between us. "Hi! I'm Beatriz!"

"Oh, um, hi. Yeah I remember you. I saw Moriah chatting with you in the park." I didn't want to be rude, but I wondered why this random lady was sitting on the couch.

"Don't worry Adam," Don said lazily. "I got it. It's really important that I romance Luna Villareal."

"No!" I cried. "It's important that you don't. Don't romance her!"

"So Moriah told me that you're looking for a new roommate," Beatriz interrupted.

"Well, I was hoping to find a fisherman but they don't seem to be around anymore," I told Beatriz.

"Can I please move in?" Beatriz asked. "I'll learn how to fish."

"Only if you bring in 20,000 simoleons," I told her.

"Done!" For her first act as an official roommate, Beatriz went into the bedroom and took a nap.

I returned my attention to Don. "Don, please, about Luna."

"Look, Adam. I'm still working on the Oasis Springs ladies. It'll be ages before I make my way to Windenberg. You have plenty of time to make your move, if you want." Don smirked. "Do it quick. Once I get to Windenberg she will be unable to resist me."

And so our days fell into a routine.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Moriah gardened.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I started work on my Mixology skill.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Beatriz and the Calientes fished.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

And Don charmed the women of Oasis Springs.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

On my first day off from my job in the Culinary career I decided to tackle some parties.

"I really like your party outfit," I told Luna.

Luna giggled. "Thank you. It's a really, really light pink. I just love how many shades of pink there are to chose form. It's amazing. Pink is amazing."

"Yeah, totally. Um, meck-chate."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

The house party and dinner party were successful gold medal parties, and the next day I went for the costume party and gold medal party.

"I can't believe they made me a clown," Katrina mumbled. "I'm sabotaging this party. Silver medal!"

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"I'm so disappointed my costume party only got a silver medal," I told Beatriz.

"Yes," Beatriz said. "I guess Katrina sabotaged it because she didn't like the clown costume. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to sabotage this black and white party to a silver medal."

"What! Why?"

"You made me an astronaut."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I invited Luna over to the house for a date, hoping it would be more successful.

"So Luna," I told her. "I was thinking. Would you like to be my girlfriend? I'm clearly so comfortable around you that I didn't get dressed before inviting you on a date."

"I don't mind Adam. Of course I want to be your girlfriend!" Luna squealed.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"So I've got three people who will be elders soon. Once they die you and your brothers can move in."

"Oh, Adam! That's most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me!"

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I threw another costume party. This time I made sure Katrina got the sexy maid outfit. "This is a gold medal party," she assured me.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Ah a black and white party. And delicious black and white food. What! Another silver medal! Everybody take a moodlet solver, no one goes to bed until we get a gold medal!" And so we tried again and again.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"How many black and white parties have we thrown? Five? I'd rather be fishing until I pee myself," Beatriz told Katrina.

"I don't why we can't get that goal for three sims to listen to the piano to clear, so we are stuck doing these until we get one where that goal doesn't pop up," Katrina replied.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"So," Moriah asked. "What is your opinion on zebras?"

"I have no opinion on zebras!" Katrina shouted. "That is not a thing people have opinions on! Immortal dynasties ruin parties!"

Luckily, on my fifth attempt, I earned a gold medal for my black and white party. But I had to agree with Katrina.

Yay! Congrats on getting a gold medal on your Black & White Bash!
That "listening to piano" party goal is such a pain!

I can't wait for Luna V. to move in so that Adam can continue making progress with his dynasty! (whispers: Nooboo!!!)
I hadn't even realized that the household is full already!

This is too funny! I'm with you and Katrina, Immortal Dynasties completely ruin parties. I don't think I would have wanted to attend any of the gold medal parties that I've thrown, particularly costume parties. "Hey! I like your costume! Hey! I hate your costume! Hey! I like your costume!" So boring!

I'm so glad Adam decided to go with Luna as his spouse! You write her so adorably. I'm completely shocked that he beat her at chess. ;)

I also loved the previous chapter's vacation at the Landgraab house, and the resulting insight into Malcom Landgraab's character. He makes so much more sense now.

Excited to see what happens next!

Chapter 4: Grim's Busy Day
« Reply #8 on: December 06, 2016, 10:27:30 PM »
@oshizu Nooboos? Adam has a lot to do. But he does seem rather smitten with Luna...

@FrancescaFiori I think after I finish this Immortal Dynasty I am never going to want to throw another party in the Sims ever again. Even with all my controllable sims running around working on different goals I always feel like I barely scrape a gold medal. I didn't think the parties was going to be the hardest requirement but it's seems like it so far.

Chapter 4: Grim's Busy Day

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"So Katrina. You realize Adam's just waiting for us to die so he can move in his girlfriend right?" Beatriz said.

"Ugh. I bet she won't even catch one angelfish." Katrina replied.

"You really hate Luna don't you?"

"I just wish Adam would have picked one of my girls. Have the Caliente genes live on. I don't even think Luna's that pretty."

"Which one? Nina, who keeps destroying the dollhouse, or Dina, who will never stop doing sit-ups?"

"Either one would have been fine."

"Yeah, you really missed the point there."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I cleared my throat. "Luna," I practiced, "Ever since the first day we met at the park, I've thought you were the prettiest girl I've ever seen." Was that right? Shouldn't I be commenting on more than just her looks?

I took a deep breath and tried again. "Luna, I love how you get so excited about everything, things other people take for granted, like the many shades of pink."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Not too much time later, Beatriz and Katrina were fishing as always when Beatriz heard Katrina lie down behind her. She felt Grim float by slowly and did her best to ignore him. After all, her age bar was bubbling and she felt it would not be a good idea to draw attention to herself. Then she heard his low, ominous voice, "Oh looks like I best get to the garden."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Indeed, it appeared Moriah had also succumbed to the bubbly age bar. Just as Grim was finishing up, he got another call. "Back to the river," he mumbled.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Unfortunately, Beatriz's attempts to go unnoticed by the Reaper were in vain, and her soul became the third reaped in a row.

After the demise of our home's three elders, I tried hard to remain calm and composed. It would reflect poorly on me to celebrate such tragedy. But I couldn't wait another moment to invite Luna over to share the news.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Luna, my love," I told her. "There's now room for four more Sims. That could be you and your two brothers, and we find a way to fill the last vacancy I'm sure."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Oh Adam," Luna said. "It's feels really wrong to be so happy about three deaths but...I'm so happy! I will sell our house and all our furnishings immediately and move in with you!"

And so the house was very quickly back up to seven occupants.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Look at these appliances!" Hugo Villareal told his siblings the next morning. "All top of the line. I'm going to love cooking in this kitchen!"

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Max Villareal was somewhat less enthused about his new gardening duties.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"So all we get to do is garden and fish?" Max grumbled to his brother.

"You're looking at this the wrong way little brother," Hugo said. "All we have to do is garden and fish. Adam is the one working those crazy hours as a mixologist. Every night he comes home with his needs in the red. But we get comfy beds and food and in return all he asks us to do is pull a few weeds and throw out a fishing line for a few hours a day."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Luna's responsibilities were a little bit different.

"Luna," I said, "Before you take the pregnancy test I have a very important question to ask you."

"Really?" Luna squealed. "Before you even know if I'm pregnant?"

"Of course. If you are pregnant, I don't want you to think that's why I'm asking you this. Because I love you Luna. No matter what happens with this dynasty and whether or not I ever get to eat ambrosia, everything was worth it because I got to meet you and you're the best thing that's ever happened to me. Will you marry me?"

"Of course!"

"Right now?"

"What?"

"Marry me, right here, right now, before you go take the test."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"I had this whole speech planned where I compared you to the moon and the stars but I can't remember it now. All I know is that I love you, Luna Villareal."

"I love you too, Adam Jones."

@FrancescaFiori If I leave Adam alone for a few minutes, he always goes to find Luna for some autonomous romancing. I don't think I've ever had a Sim as smitten with a love interest. It's cute though.

Chapter 5: Dag Dag Nooboo

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Apparently, confetti on the toilet means I'm about to be a father. I'm excited but terrified. I'm still slogging away at the crazy hours of a mixologist. Will I be able to spend any time with the new baby?

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I do finish the Master Mixologist aspiration and make my museum contributions, eight happy potions.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Hugo has now aged up to an adult. Luna's pregnancy means that she'll stay a young adult a little longer.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I caught Luna out back sneaking strawberries. "Boys don't like pink," she explained. "I need a little girl."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

One morning, I overheard Luna moaning to Nina Caliente. "I'm a huge whale," she cried. "I can't even imagine what Adam must think of me now that I'm so big and ugly."

"Luna," Nina replied, "If a man ever looked at me for one second the way Adam looks at you every second of every day I would die a happy woman. He worships the ground you walk on."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I was working the night Luna went into labor, so her brother Hugo went with her to the hospital.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

It seems he found the hospital's computer more interesting than the birth of his niece or nephew. (We have computers at home. I don't know why he felt compelled to play instead of support Luna through her labor.)

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

My poor Luna ended up walking down to the delivery room on her own.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I can't imagine how frightening it must have been to be poked and prodded at, but of course my Luna was brave and strong.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

And my perfect wife gave birth to a perfect little girl, Chloe.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Apparently, they had a little dance party to celebrate Chloe's arrival. Don brought his latest conquest.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Even Max found Chloe irresistible. "Look kid, I had to destroy your dollhouse because dolls are stupid. But you might be OK."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

I, of course, made a beeline for Chloe's bassinet as soon as I finished my shift. "Hello my little princess," I whispered. I'd never seen anything so perfect as my baby girl. "I'm your Daddy. We're going to be together a long time so I hope you like me. I certainly love you."

Yay! Welcome to Chloe! Of course Luna needed a girl. Having to decorate for a boy would have been a criminal waste of her knowledge of the many shades of pink. :)
It's sweet that she and Adam are so in love, and great that the whole family is helping with the baby, even Max!
Nice-looking museum items, too!

Chapter 6: A Taste of Immortality
« Reply #14 on: December 11, 2016, 01:05:45 AM »
@oshizu Max is horrible. He starts in the game as a child with the evil trait. I don't if his other two traits are random or fixed but I got Gloomy and Jealous. So he always has a sad moodlet about something. He cries in bed or goes off and is mean to people or breaks the dollhouse which makes Chloe sad and Luna because Luna has the childish trait. Every day it's a fight for me to just get him over to the fishing spot so I don't have to deal with him. Hugo enjoys cooking as a hobby, but Adam will able to make his own ambrosia. What I've done with him is have him do the Mixology branch of the Chef career and the Master Chef and Master Mixologist aspirations, since Master Chef requires the Culinary career but doesn't specify the branch, and Master Mixologist requires the mixology branch of culinary. So Adam has maxed Cooking, Gourmet Cooking, and Mixology. The only other skill Adam needed was Level 8 charisma. The convivial lot trait helps with that plus I picked up a from @Playalot in her dynasty story to give sims a knowledge aspiration to start so they get the quick learner trait, and then switch the aspiration to one you want them to do.

@FrancescaFiori and @Joria Luna has betrayed us. Well Adam. I'm going to try to write around it and keep them happy, but the Watcher is angry at Luna. And Don Lothario.

Chapter 6: A Taste of Immortality

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Chloe has been a very quiet baby, almost never crying. A couple of times we've gotten the notice that she is very hungry and could be taken away, which was a surprise because she doesn't cry. I'm glad they warned us at least, and we could make sure she got a proper feeding those times. Luna's been spending time in the kids room to be with Chloe, but she also plays with the dollhouse when she thinks no one is looking. I find her childish streak enduring.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Soon our little girl grew up into a child. "You're just like Mommy! Wearing pink!" Luna exclaimed.

"Of course I'm wearing pink Mommy. It's the best color." Chloe was a smart girl and knew how to get on her mother's good side.

"What are you going to do first sweetheart?"

"Um, become playful and then play on the jungle gym?"

"No. Homework first. School is your priority."

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Ever the good girl, Chloe did as she was told. She then went to meet the other residents of the house.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Uncle Don," Chloe asked. "What do you do all day?"

"Kid," Don said, "if I told you your parents would kill me. Maybe when you're a teen."

Unfortunately my camera seemed to not be working when Luna aged up into an adult.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"I don't mind," Luna assured me. "It's not like I look any different."

"I'll be looking different soon." I sighed. "My elder birthday is coming up. I still haven't maxed my career and I need to make my five good friends and one BFF."

"You're a Level 9 in your career and it won't take long to make friends. You'll definitely make it. Don't worry."

Time marched on, despite my reservations, and soon me, Dina, Nina, and Don all became elders.

"So what do you think of me now that I'm old and gray?" I asked Luna.

"Come to our room and I'll show you," she replied.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

Chloe worked hard on her two chosen childhood aspirations: Rambunctious Scamp and Whiz Kid.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Uncle Don!" Chloe called. "Who's that lady?"

"My girlfriend Summer," Don replied.

"I thought your girlfriend was a girl named Liberty."

"Quiet kid!"

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Mommy, that's three meck chates in a row," Chloe said.

"You're so smart little princess. Mommy's happy to lose to you." Luna really never did mind losing at chess.

And Luna was right about my career. My first work shift after becoming an elder I was promoted to Level 10. I, of course, promptly retired.

The next day I headed to the park to make friends.

A few days and moodlet solvers later, I had my five good friends and new BFF.

[ You are not allowed to view attachments ]

"Thanks for being my BFF Tricia even though I just peed myself."

"That OK Adam. It happens to the best of us."

I headed home in the darkness and went straight to the kitchen. The rest of the household was in bed. Carefully, I measured the ingredients and cooked my first dish of ambrosia. It tasted like immortality.
