Max Skills
« on: December 02, 2010, 06:46:28 PM »
01-12-2010 (time unknown).
Max Skills is the name for a new sim of mine and make an educated guess why I choose to give him a name like that. ;)

His traits are: Perfectionistic, Bookworm, Artistic, Workaholic and Virtuoso.
Lifetimewish: Jack of all traits.

So far I've done and mastered Guitar, including that painfully difficult 'play at venues' challenge and I also have ubermaxed Bass, including the same opportunity and I am halfway Drums, and got 6 out of 10 'venues' completed.

In the meantime, waiting for the instrumental challenges, Max has read all the books from his town and all three the foreign countries. He also has bought some good relics, which I need because he also will max his 'vacation book.'

Wish me luck guys. After this Piano will be next. ;)

Edit: 02-12-2010 (time unknown)
And after that I think Gardening will be an option, because of the Omniplant challenges, and next after that will be Inventing, with another challenge: 'Making Mystery Invention.' After that I can max every skill in every random order as I wish. Any tips or ideas in fulfilling this hard task will be appreciated. Hope I can write a guide about it when I'm completely finished.

From all the 'playing for tips' sections Max has now officially become a millionair.

Edit: 03-12-2010, somewhere around 16:30 (EU timezone).
Max has finished all the instruments including the oppertunities that came with it. He already has purged almost the half of the available LTR and now I have him midlife crisis into a Cooking, Gardening, Fisherman. He has read all the books , including all the songbooks and has already find a lot of gems, metals and relics. China relixs are almost completed now. and oh yeah, and he is already a five star celebrity. :)
He also can charm a snake (Hidden Instrument?) and is very good in making acrobatic tricks at the trampoline.
His traits are now: Natural Cook, Perfectionist, Bookworm, Angler and Green Dumb.

Edit: 03-12-2010 18:50 (EU timezone).
Max has mastered his fishing skill and the oppertunity to catch 20 different species. He is on his way catching 350 fishes and in the meantime ‘collecting’ deathfish. Ambrosia is coming.

07-03-2011.
So, I've done it: Max Skills is ready for downloading right here, right now for all of you who are interested.

Good luck do you plan on just maxing or supermaxing all the skills. Are you playing on normal lifespan? Are you doing all the associated challenges?

Supermaxing. With fullfilling all the opportunities that come with it. Otherwise it is too simple and not that satisfying. And to be honest, I am playing with Aging Off at the moment. Completing all the instruments took up like 2 sim lives, howly cow, but I've done it. Instruments are completed. So now I've midlife crisis my sims into a cooking, fishing, gardening one. Ambrosia, here we come. :D

If you're playing this with Aging Off, then your Sim is already immortal and would have no need for Ambrosia (though the moodlet is obviously quite sweet).

Maybe he means that when he maxes cooking and works on his fishing and gardening skills he will be able to make ambrosia and perhaps put aging back on.
I suppose if you wanted to attempt to supermax all the skills then learning how to cook ambrosia would be a good thing to learn first so you could leave aging on and still complete all the skills.

Yes, I know. But now I can make him mortal again. The instrumental time is finished (finally).

In English, it's Green Thumb.  Although Green Dumb gave me a nice giggle.  :D

Haha, I knew that. It must be a mistake while typing.

So, Max Skill is almost finished I have to say. He has maxed everything except for photography, which I will save for last because it needs a lot of focus (look at all those challenges and photo collections, I certainly didn't know what I was starting...) but oh well.
He has to fight his 75 matches with sparring and get to level 5 sparring. Also I want him to unlock all the objects he can sculpt. Any ideas how to speed that up people? No cheating nor CC please.

Nice. If you open your own topic about your progress I will like to follow it. Although the Notify buttons doesn't work for me anymore for some reason.

Carl says the quickest way to unlock sculptures is to sculpt in clay.

Because those sculptures are finished the fasted? Yes, I already thought so. But does it really unlock everything? For example, the topiary unlocks can only be unlocked with making topiaries.

I'm not sure if it's because the clay is the fastest.  He just did some testing when it first came out and that's what he found.  But yes, the topiaries are separate and wouldn't be associated with clay sculptures.  I'd like for my Sculptor to make ice sculptures of different things, so I've got her making clay now to see if I can get some new things unlocked.
