"Frugal Sims" in City Life?

Hey, so in the past (before I got "City Life") I often used my aspiration points (or whatever they call them) to get the "Frugal" potion for my Sims because it cuts their household bills down 25% each time you get bills in the mail. So, now that I have City Life, I'm wondering if I use up my points to get the Frugal potion, will my rent be reduced by 25% each week? I don't want to waste the 2,000 points if it doesn't work....

Anybody know?

And follow up question, if I move apartments afterwards, does my Frugal-ness apply itself to my new place?

I suppose I could try it and if it doesn't work I'll just quit without saving and then go back in to the game...

The frugal trait does lower rent in apartments by 25%. I just checked one of my frugal sim saves.

Great to know @lesleyj42  I just gave my sim the trait to test it out but I'm still waiting for rent day to roll around.

That's awesome that it works in apartments, too.  My main CL family has a penthouse and the frugal reward trait, so, they just get bills, but I can tell they're lower than they would be.  I think penthouses work like houses, though because there isn't any rent.

Worked on mine also. Went from $600 a week rent to $450 a week. Just have to get rid of those noisy neighbors........

Yep, me too went from $600 to $375 so it's definitely functional in apartments.

Do you know if you switch apartments if it follows you and applies to your next apartment?

Yes, once your sim has it, it follows them wherever they move until they meet Grim.
