Portrait Question
« on: November 13, 2016, 12:20:03 AM »
Hello,

I feel like a n00b asking this, but I'm stumped and not finding info on this. Like several times before, I will most likely find my answer after I have posted and/or someone replies and I see it listed in the rules somewhere clear as day.

ANYWHO.

When working on a challenge and you have to have your Sims portrait in a museum. I've been assuming that means having someone else taking a photo of your Sim and then doing a "Paint from reference". So - first, is this assumption correct or am I not doing the portrait thing right? Secondly, the two portraits that have been painted from reference look to me like blank canvases. So, I don't know if that's a glitch or something to do with my painters skill level or just what.

Enlightenment please! :)

Kerry

Kerry,

That sounds like a glitch. You might try going out of your game and coming back in, to see if what your Sim painted then shows up. Anyway, it doesn't have anything to do with the painter's skill -- if the option to do a painting from reference is there, then your Sim has enough skill.

Thanks Marian. I believe it is a glitch too. I went back in and had the Sim create a copy, still blank. So I sold both of those and tried a fresh paint from reference - still blank. Kind of a bummer since it's a req for the challenge. Think I will load an older game and see if the issue is there as well.

Hi! I've had a blank portrait problem that I was able to solve by going into my game settings and unchecking the box next to "retina display". The game doesn't look as good, but at least I can paint from reference again. I'm hoping they'll fix this glitch in a patch soon so I can change my settings back.

Ah yes!! Thank you! That fixed the issue. Agreed the game isn't as sharp and I suppose I could leave it checked until it's time to paint from reference. Thanks again!!
